View Full Version : V's Eldar ect. Log

05-06-2007, 01:32
First off, will be my attempt at a introduction, I have been a lurker for a while, occasionaly popping in to post a reply or army list, and after watching everyone progrees with thier own project logs I believe it is my turn. For now it will only be eldar and maybe the occasional ork or daemon. However in july I will begin to assemble a Rackham dogs of war army. (being a year under the working age (14) I must sadly rely on allowance and having just bought an entire eldar army i'm broke for another month or so.)

Now onto my first finished eldar figure, a Howling Bansee. (sorry for the fuzzyness, I'm still trying to get the hang of a not quite exceptional camera.)

Well, there you have it, hopefully this log will motivate me to finish the army, next up, more banshees and dark reapers.

Wow! Very nice! How'ed you do the bone?

05-06-2007, 03:21
It's nicely painted and I like the bone, but why so many bum shots?

The bone was done with a white undercoat, basecoated bubonic brown, washed with snakebithe leather, shaded with flesh wash. layered with bronzed flesh, then bleached bone, then highlighted with a 50/50 mix of bone and white then finaly white. Believe me it takes much less time than it sounds, the thing that I hated the most was painting everything but the bone black and then highlighting every ****** wave of hair.

As for the bum shots, well I guess its the back of her I think has the best shading, and a close up on the hair would reveal that after getting fed up on highlighting it I ended up doing a halfass over brush with a glaze. See, there's a perfectly reasonable explanation... :D

Edit: except for inks, 90% of my paints are velejo and i'm listing the GW equivilant, mostly for the fact that half the names of them have rubbed off and i've already memorized the GW names.

Snazzy! I like your shading it is really good.
I think the bum shot is the sharpest of the pictures and that's why it's being shown off. ;) Right? heh

I like the bootie shot :p Thats some nice attention to...er detail lol. Seriously though thats great work on her armor and the hair. Means there's gonna be some good stuff to look forward to on this one.

May I ask: How'd you do the snow on the base?

05-06-2007, 09:28
very nice work there doubly so when you consider your young age.
you my boy have talent and i will be watching this to see how the rest of your army goes.
how long did it take you to paint the banshee?

07-06-2007, 00:38
Thank you for all the praise, but sad new for a week or so, so there won't be any pictures for a little bit as I'm enetering the baltimore tournament and the golden demon so as of now my priorities 1. Finish my GD entry (last year for youngbloods) and 2. Putting my basecoats on my models so it fills the three color and based requirement for the tourny. (was hoping to get best painted army, but as of now only having 1 banshee and half my dark reapers painted, I think minimum standard is in order.)

Oh and abut the snow, I was going to give credit in my frist post but, I had forgotten to credit Proximity with his tecnique form his Godzilla Army. http://www.warseer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1383961&postcount=78

I love that bone armour! It's smoother than sammy the silkworms smoothest pyjamas! Good job, though shame about the camera :(

Well, I'm back, and won gold for youngbloods! It was actualy a touched up version of the model above because I messed up my renegade ogryn.:( Anyway I've decided on a death korps of krieg army with a penal battalion made of the renegade torso's I had bought earlier. (50 conscripts with a commisar:D ) So I now have a platoon of infantry and a grenadier squad. i'm not too sure about the scheme but pics will come soon.
