first up a list without peasant infatry, I wanted 2 damsels in. If I want to take peasant bowmen (10+10, other skirmishing) Iīll remove the cheaper damsel
The tournament coming doesnīt have composition points, and the soft scores consist solely from painting.the list isnīt made up thinking about cheese, as I donīt have 20 painted pegasi (I do have many many unpainted pegasi...)

Heroes:
Lord: general, questing vow, enchanted shield, sword of the quest, gauntlet of duel, virtue of confidence=238
Paladin: bsb, virtue of duty=104
Damsel: horse, silver mirror=120
Damsel: horse, 2 scrolls=130

Core:
8 KOTR: FC=216
8 KOTR: FC=216
8 KOTR: FC, warbanner=241
6 Knights Errant: FC, errantry banner=161

Special:
6 Mounted yeomen: shields, standard, musician=117
3 pegasus knights: musician=175
8 Questing knights: FC, banner of Defence=281
=1999, 4 DD, 2 scrolls, one uberscroll. 5 lances, 2 flanking units, one tough dueling general.
So what do you think, should I dismiss the mirror-wielding damsel and take 2x10 peasant archers? They have performed very well and I havent tested 2 damsels yet, so I have to ask.

do not bother with question knights. there rubbish since they got a kick in the teeth from 7th edition. your better off trying to put grail knights in by maybe dropping the KE. similarly dont bother with a great weapon for your lord. Got a magic sword and a lance. Much more effective
Another good idea is to give the BSB the wyrm lance. basically just so that he has a lance
Are your damsels level 2? if so drop them to level one. and the silver mirror is a waste of points for MAYBE destroying a spell (i think thats what it does lol)

Yeh, I would definately suggest getting some Grail Kinghts. Questing Knights truly are outshined by the other choices in the list atm.

The silver mirror is a dispel scroll and also inflicts a S6 hit on the caster.

Although I agree that Questing Knights got nerfed big-time, they're not such a terrible waste. I'd definately turn them into another unit of either Kotr or get a full unit of KE and fill out the other unit of KE.

If you DO drop the questing knights, definately drop the questing vow, the sword of the quest, and get him either the lance of artois or some similar nasty item. Heck, you could even give your paladin BSB a sword of might (2S5 attacks isn't bad, atall).

PS. Just incase you didn't know, great weapons only give +1str AND still make you strike last while mounted.

some skirmishing bowmen would help you I think. The QK could find a better use for their points. A smaller unit of grail knights or some peasents and a trebuchet.

I would say keep the Questing Knights:

They are (essentially) as good as "regular" knights are on the charge on every turn of combat, thanks to their superior basic strength. They are a good unit to have for targeting tough things that you feel won't die on the charge.

However if you want a unit to wipe the enemy out in one swoop, go with grail Knights instead.

Skirmishing Bowmen could be useful to "screen" your more valuable Knights, but if you are going for theme then they aren't overly necessary.

Just what Treadhead said. QK are S5 every turn of the game and wonīt fail that crucial terror/fear/panic check so easily. Besides, my Lord needs an escort, and I have already converted the QK lance.
@Zapherion: the lord already has a magical weapon, the sword of quest. No one tells me to use it as GW if I donīt want to. The lord is actually very potent in challenges. Damsels are level 1, I would have marked the extra level. Silver mirror is very nice (on the paper). 15points more on top of a usual dispel scroll, and I get 1/2 points of a enemy caster on 2+? YES PLEASE.
Oh, and I know GW gives only +1 Str while mounted, thank you.

BSB would have sword of might, but I was low on points already, QK could be upped to GK but I donīt have the models/points/will to do that, QK are fine.

Peasant archers would be really nice, but what can you do with only so many points. BSB is already cheap as hell, lord is full kitted out but I like it that way (besides a paladin would be too weak, I want to have someone to challenge enenemy big hitters), and with only 1 damsel my magic defence would be quite small. Without QK lance, I donīt have too many knights, so where do I get points for archers (20 or 30), or should I even bother?

One thing to think about: If I recall correctly you only get the benefits from the Lance formation on the charge, therefore in ensuing rounds of combat you only get three attacks. Unlike some of the other posters, I think that taking the Questing Knights is a great idea in a tournament. The point that I'm trying to get at though is that the lance formation may not be best for them, as they should be used against unbreakable units like Slayers, Flaggellents, and Undead.

As for trimming the fat, what's up with the standard on the Mounted Yeomen? You probably have a use in mind, but I never put banners on fast cavalry. Also, I think you can get away with only the Damsel with the two scrolls. Three scrolls and 4 DD is a pretty intense amount of magic defense. Plus, your army can get to grips with enemy spellcasters pretty quickly. Two scrolls and three DD can get you through the first two turns, and then it's time to charge.

I finally got my borrowed (and painted!) bretonnians from the box, and after some tinkering I came up with these two lists (which doesnīt make me paint any more models). Should I paint more KOTR/QK/MY and change something from below?

LIST A
Prophetess LVL4, falcon horn, scroll, power stone, steed
Damsel LVL2, chalice, barded steed, scroll
Damsel LVL2 silver mirror
BSB Virtue of duty

3x8 KOTR (FC)
5 KE (FC)
14 skirmishing bowmen with champion (footdamsels retinue)
4 pegasus with musician
5 QK with musician

LIST B
Green knight
damsel LVL2 barded steed, chalice, scroll
Damsel LVL2 steed, silver mirror
BSB: virtue of duty

3x8 KOTR(FC)
6 KE (FC)
10 skirmishers
10 non.skirmishing bowmen
4 peg. with musician
5 QK with musician

I wasnīt fully aware what kind of model collection I would get, and it shows. Iīll have to paint some QK and MY (or just take bowmen) for the list in the first post.
