View Full Version : Lets Log This Wraithlord

I have been meaning to get my hands on a lovely new wraithlord for ages. Ever since I saw the positioning article on the UK GW website I have wanted to make a kneeling sniping wraithlord. And now I am. So far I only have the legs cut and positioned. I need to green stuff them which I may leave for now as they are pretty strong and I can work on other things. I have realised that I have not planned this at all so I need some help.

As you can see he is kneeling on a magnet and blue tac. I want him kneeling on something but I don't know what. I don't want a dead marine or anything so maybe this will be rubble/terrain.

I also want to position his body to one side but keep his head facing straight on. Any ideas how I can do this. The only bad thing in this kit is that the head is not easy to work with.

I will post more updates as I do them.

looks nice so far... as for the head and body... try pinning them into place with as little gap as possible... then fill the gaps with Green Stuff and you're sorted :)

looks good so far dude. what craftworld and weapons options are you thinking about?

I will give him a brightlance. As for what craftworld... well I have not thought that far ahead. I have not got a clue what colours to paint him.

Here is the brightlance so far. I am not that happy about the backend of it which is made out of an ork boy shoota however it is all I really have to use and I don't want to cut up the sword just for this. This pic is pre greenstuffing so it should look a bit better with a bit of green.

This is the body. Nothing special.

I have done some work on the base. I will get a picture done when it is dry and I have finished greenstuffing the legs.

Here's an update on the base and the legs. Hopefully I will be able to start on the next layer of greenstuffing later tonight. I am not planning on adding more to the base itself.

I am still not sure what colour scheme to paint this guy. Any suggestions?

As your doing him as a sniper, i would suggest Alaitoc as your Craftworld of choice.

I was going to post this last night but warseer was down. This is his torso. I have used guitar strings as tubing.

The guy is now all glued together and most of the greenstuffing is done.

I quite like the Alaitoc colour scheme so my next plan is to have some practise painting it and test out some methods.

I am happy to say there will be updates coming. I have started painting the legs and will be getting pics done. I have been so busy with bitzbox lately so I am sorry that this thread has died because of it but I really want to get this guy finished.

oo nice, very neon genesis evangelion

Here are some more pics of the legs and the base. I have not finished painting these yet. I need to neaten up some highlights and add detail and drybrushing to places. My flash seemed a little too bright on one of them.

Great pose, lovely colors! The part of the weapon that touches his arm looks a little bit to rough, though... maybe some round GS "pillow" would be more suitable and fitting for such an organic, smooth design.

A couple of updates to keep you going. I'm busy with my new chaos army at the moment but I want to get this guy done so I will be working now and again on him.

Progress is slow on this guy due to my chaos army taking up my painting time but he is slowly getting there. Here are a couple more pics anyway.
