Well having recently finished my ELdar army I figured another one was in order (gee, really). Also since my other army, the Aventine Crusades, is soon to be from Lost and the Damned to pure Codex Chaos, I am left without a Chaos Guard army. So I decided that very, very slowly (or as fast as I can afford FW stuff, whichever you prefer) I would build a Renegade Militia army based around the Siege of Vraks list. Just having recently gotten a few things from my friend Inquisitor Konig when he arrived home from jolly ole' England, I figured I'd start the log.

To make things stretch there will be 3 types of RM infantry in the list:
1. Models with RM torsos, but Cadian arms and legs.
2. Models with RM autogun arms, Cadian bodies+legs, and Flagellant heads.
3. A very light sprinkling of House Cawdor Gangers because I had them.

The painting scheme and style will be very heavily influenced by Mikas work, seen here... (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62847)

This is the army list I will be building towards...

HQ
Arkus the Faithless 150
2*Apostate Preacher w/ Eviscerator 130
2*Rogue Psychers w/ Demo Charge 50

Elites
10*Marines w/ 3*Meltaguns, Champion w/ Powerfist 245
10*Marines w/ 3*Plasmaguns, Missle Launcher 245
10*Disciples of Xaphan w/ Plasma Gun*2, Missle Launcher
Champion w/ Sniper Rifle, Surveyor 132

Troops
Platoon-
Command Squad w/ Powerfist, Meltagun 70
Infantry Squad w/ Grenade Launcher, Veteran w/ Chaos Banner 94
Infantry Squad w/ Heavy Bolter, Plasmagun, Veteran w/ Sniper Rifle 96

Armoured Fist Squad w/ Meltagun, Veteran w/ Demo Charge 86
Chimaera w/ Twin Heavy Bolters, Hull Heavy Bolter, Heavy Stubber, Extra Armour, Smoke 110

Fast Attack
Salamander w/ Extra Armour, Smoke, Heavy Stubber 120
Hellhound w/ Extra Armour, Smoke 123

Heavy Support
Demolisher w/ Hull Heavy Bolter, Heavy Bolter Sponsons, Extra Armour, Smoke 173
Demolisher w/ Hull Heavy Bolter, Heavy Bolter Sponsons, Extra Armour, Smoke 173

Now to the pics...

Ooh! Renegades! I've been looking for a Log concerning them. It's good that you have a plan already on how things are going to go down. Can't wait to see them painted.

I spy new flagellant heads ;)

I'll definately be following this one with interest; your Eldar were great and I'm very intrigued to see what you can do with the FW renegade militia models.

Is that Salamander a conversion? If so it's a very nice looking one :)

If you're looking for a log of Renegades, you should definately check out elotsips, here... (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67827) It was a great inspiration for me...

Yep, you certainly do, that kit has sooo many good bits. The Salamander is definately a conversion, but its not near done yet.

Don't worry, I will...

If you don't want me following your Log just say so :D:D. Nah, I wanna see how yours turn out, since I'm a big fan of your Eldar.

A man after my own heart, forgeworld and conversions a plenty with lateral views on using simple head swaps to add character. Will look at your Eldar now as I'm new to Warseer and have not got round all the logs yet. I have done "Edge of Eldar" which I may post at some time after my Deathwing/Elysians.

Look forward to this log as Renagades may be my next project as I've done a Khorne army in the past.

Thank you. I don't know exactly what you mean by 'Edge of Eldar', but its sounds intriguing and I like to have a look.

No, Ventris, far from it, I was just trying to be helpful.

No work on the Renegades themselves, but I do have the Salamander almost finished at this point, have a look...

Its similar to a couple on this site already, but done in a 'boged job' style, which suits the Renegades perfectly. It really does look like they've bolted bits they've found to make the vehicle they need. Well done!

Thanks very much SC. I was really pleased when I thought of how to mount the stubber, glad you like it. I definately do want to make this vehicle heavily weathered, but its going to a learning process. I wanted this army to be my first 'realistic' army, with weathering and rust and earthy tones and all that. Hopefully having so many great painters of that style at my disposal here will be of much help.

Thanks Jase. Honestly this vehicle was mostly inspired by your kitbash Salamander, so credit where its due and all that;)...
