Why make 2 threads?

You could have asked both these questions in 1 thread, besides we cannot give out rules word for word from a GW publication, in print or otherwise.

each terradon had a boulder which it could fire at an enemy unit using your BS. I have a feeling it worked like a S3 3" template but I didn't face lizardmen much in 5th edition.

If I may offer some friendly advice; If you use more descriptive titles you may get more answers.

Under the 5th edition ruleset each terradon carried one rock that they dropped on the enemy the first time they charged. Essentially they did 1 S6 impact hit each on the first charge of the game only.

Two editions ago, at the start of their first combat during the game the Terradons would drop their payload doing one automatic Str 6 hit each. Combat would then be resolved as normal. It was neat, but got changed in sixth edition.

Ya, you needed to "fly high" and then you could deliver your st 6 payload. It was a nasty combo. Very easy to kill lone characters. But you had to be able to fly high. Thus the first turn became critical for terradon success.
