I want to keep him out of combat and choose only such engements that wont put him in danger ( this is what wolf form is there fore ) I always use GW on him as he will be in 12" range of bound helish and besides he can choose to use it or not. Overall supportive character used to boost cr aginst normal troops.

The idea is to quickly close up on enemy but maitaining flank support from hosts and BK due to extended general range boost up regs with magic and break them on 4-5 turn Lord Helps only when needed and BK try to take out enemy meanest unit with combination of van hales and helish ( i've pulled it couple of times with less dices ;) )

It's very simmilar but characters are far less supportive and more cc aginst enemy heroes oriented

So the question is whitch would do better in tourneys ???

I'd imagine the Carstein army to be more effective at Tournament, largely because it looks more like the sort of thing I'd take ;). Not that I've ever done well at tournament, but it's built to take on all comers, and is generally more versatile than the Blood Dragon one. The characters make all the difference, and I think the supporting role of the Carsteins is a winner.

For Satans sake necros go there only if enemy has means of targeting them if not in unit !!! :D ( magic , los blocking and such ) if not they go behind or next to :D - chill man - thx for input ;)

LC and Akuma are on the money, Necros are much more flexible if they stay out of the unit and only put the in the unit if you are worried about them getting picked off by magic, marksmen etc. Their magic can be put to much greater use if they are out on their own and not having to manuvre (?SP) like a unit. occasionally they'll get shot to pieces etc, but if they die, at east its not your general like in so many <2000pt games.

Keep them close to a unit at all times but I wouldn't bother making the join it unless you're getting closed in on, and only then if you can't run away!
