im not sure where to post this so feel free to move it.
i have made variety of fan-based codex but tthey look too plain. I have seen some briliat codexes with codex logos cool backgrounds etc, does anyone have a good guide to making one of these.

I think a vector-based art program such as Freehand or Illustrator is best used for the Codex logos. You could always use Photoshop, but make sure that you keep the resolution very high such as 600DPi to keep it sharp.

thanks, will i need to get a pdf writer? i do have one but i have to use microsoft word/ works documents then convert them in to pdf format so its diffic ult to transfer photoshop etc into the word document.

A PDF writer might be the way to go, although both Illustrator & Freehand do output as PDF natively.
