Suuubscribing... your work is terrific!

Man, that's the coolest steam tank I've ever seen, the first time I saw it I thought that it was a drawing... really really neat stuff!

Your dreadnought is looking really nice, though, man! You need some more gore on that base! Marines have more organs than common mortals, so they have to spill more blood when eviscerated !

Great stuff, care to post more!

Lol, that was my impression, too :D.

Anyway, I'm (once more) impressed by your sculpting skills. Only a thought though: the gap between the two parts of the jump pack IMHO ruins a bit the overall appearance of the model, and (and here I'm being picky) the legs don't seems to fit the pose... he seems to stand on stilts (sp?) rather than leaping in the air.

Just my €0.02 though!

Ooooo. I am loving these undead conversions. Necromancer is especially succesful. He actually looks like he is pulling that skellie from the ground. Excellent.

I have not visited for a while but it was great to see the dreadnaught painted. That is a remarkable job start to finish. great work. The Rhino also caught my eye. very, very nice paintjob.Vrey smooth, very well highlighted, lovely mud, nice detailing. Top draw.

Thank you, Harry. Your works are examples to me always.

I second Harry's feelings - the necromancer is one of the coolest and fluffiest conversion I've seen. Your skills with yellow (light brown? :wtf:) stuff are excellent, an entire unit of those black knights will be scary! This is sooo much better than the current black khight models.

I think you need to work on your skin and metal. Don't get me wrong, yur painting is great, but I just thought you might want to work on that. Darken the skin, and use NMM consistently, because the warrior priest looks fantastic with it.

Edit: Skin has improved already I see. Good job! Now, work on that pirates pistol, try out some wood grain effects.

Silence for a long time. Now I will show you some new VC minis.

A zombie from Cathay.
The models of this zombie come from HongKong horror movies. These zombie were officials of Qing Dynasty in Chinese history. I used the GW zombie's head and hands. And finished other part with Putty. Wish you like it.

Nice freehands, and I like the color choice. The light green robe fits perfectly with the mini.
Overall a good looking piece, but IMO the highlights on the horse are too abrupt... especially on its right side. The base sides need another coat of paint, though.

Iwas thinking that too! The model is really cool, a good idea well executed, the sedan is something different. But is that really a microphone?

lz7947
21-01-2008, 11:16
Microphone? Yes. She is a female general and speak lower than the male one. In order to make her soldiers heard her command clearly. She installed a microphone on the sedan.

Yours is undoubtedly one of the best VC armies around. Love the look of the last chap, even if IMHO ypu should put some more effort with the tunic... the highlights are not too well blended, and you showed us that you can do better.

I'm saying this only because I feel that it would be a pity to see such a well converted mini without a paintjob that gives it justice

The Awesome Steamtank, the cool Cathayans and, of course, Zombie Superman* are just the sort of great pieces that keep the Hobby fresh, inspiring and go to show what can be done with a little imagination and application. Great work, fella!

The outstanding converted Grave Guard is my personal favourite and I'd go as far as to say it's almost as good as a nice big bit of cake! (And I really like cake! :p)

Now I'd appreciate it, if anyone with plenty of spare time would be good enough to send me some- spare time that is, not cake! (Though on second thoughts...)
Always something else to paint, but never enough time!

(*I'll leave it up to someone else for the obligatory comedy variation of the "Is it a bird...")

Thanks my friends for your supports. I will respond with more interesting minis. I’m very glad to see that some ideas are useful for you.

To tancrede: I’m a fan of your work too. Do you know? Your Nipponese army and my Cathayan army are rivals in the Korean war 1592-1598 in the real history. Looking forward to seeing some more updates of your army.

To merkado: Your Superman is cool.

To Froth: I like cake too. ..

Wow, very nice Guan Yu and Huang Zhong! Such great detail and such fine paint job, the poses are so dynamic too! Both your friend and you are very talented. Looking at these make me even more eager to back to China for a visit. (yeah, I'm chinese too)

Is it possible if you do a scale comparison shot of those 2 Three Kingdoms warriors next to some GW human and horse figures? I'm curious at how they compare with the GW scale.

I'm hoping you guys are also preparing the other 3 of the Five Tiger Warriors (or the Tiger Five? Sounds like superheroes, lol), we rarely see Cathay miniatures of such fine quality and pose these days... Great work!

My friend ZiFeng is a genius. He plan to complete a series of generals from Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Now, he finished five of them and casted them in metal. His website is http://www.dddhk.com/. But the English version is under construction. If someone is interested in these model, you can contract with him .(wargamechina@gmail.com)

Thanks for the scale shot. I had a look on ZiFeng's website and was glad to know there is indeed a series of the Five Tiger Warriors. I might try to get them sometime, once I've figured out how...:eyebrows:

on average how much does each model cost?

I tried some the links on the sculptor's website, which leads to various distributors in Mainland China/HK/Macau/Taiwan, the prices of these models (based on the recent Ex Rate) works out to be roughly AUD$10.85, which is just under US$8.00 each. But that's excluding postage costs.

Oh wow, I haven't seen Chinese miniatures at this scale and quality before, a really nice find!

So you know this guy in person? If you have the time, could you ask him how he got into miniatures, and if any other Chinese companies do this? I see he's from Hong Kong.

So are you Chinese yourself, an expat in Shanghai? Do people play GW games there? I may be visiting that city over this summer.

My friend has a miniature company to product Chinese style miniatures. His company is in HongKong and GuangDong.

And there are many people play GW in ShangHai, you can find it's address in White Dwarf. Welcome to our city this summer.
