This came up in a game this evening.

A unit of skaven were attacked to the front (orc unit), left flank (orc characters) and the right flank (giant). To no-ones shock they lost the combat and fled. The orc unit decided to hold. The characters decided to pursue and so did the giant.

The skaven rolled their flee dice. None of the pursuers got near the score so the unit of rats moved away. The giant however then moved it's pursuit distance and because of where it was originally positioned, contacted the fleeing skaven unit again. What happens next (when you catch something you failed to catch)?

Also, another question cropped up - does unit strength have any effect on wiping out a unit by winning the pursuit dice roll? We couldn't find anything that suggested it does which means a single US1 model can wipe out a 20 strong unit with a pursuit roll. True?

I've always placed pursuers the difference in rolls from the pursuee (ie, Skaven roll a 9, Giant rolls a 7, place Giant 2" behind skaven. This may be a holdover from 6th though, with all this spinning around central points and such.

And yes, a lone character can butcher a fleeing unit all by hisself!

As the pursuit roll was lower then that of the breaking unit, any pursuers must stop 1" away from the broken unit.

As for the pursuing unit, there is no minimum unit strength required to destroy the fleeing unit.

Correct: BRB, p.44

Page 44 indeed. You can never find it during a game :)

Thanks all.
