View Full Version : Charalice's Emperors Children Log

15-08-2007, 20:03
Hello, boys and girls.

This is my first project log (actually my first thread). After playing Black Templars for the last two years, I am going to pick Emperors Children as my next army. The reasons are simple: the new CSM codex is comming, and slannesh is always my favorite (pink, pink, great~).

Having read the new codex, I have some difficulties to choose a suitable colour scheme for my EC amry (I know, I know it should be pink and black). The problem is that I also like the colour scheme of flawless host, so I deciede to leave the colour scheme until I start to paint noise marines.

Sadly, what will be included in my army is also not decided yet. I am still testing different army lists. What I am sure is I will have two squads of 6 noise marines and a dreadnought.

Here is the dreadnought I paint for my army. Hope you like it. I have also converted some noise marines, pictures will be post tomorrow.

Wow that looks really good Charalice! I especially like the flesh, and the metal on the dirge caster-thingey near his head. Nice work on the base too.
I'm really looking forward to what else you'll be doing, count me as subscribed!

That Dread is very crisp and well presented, shall keep an eye on this.

Thank you guys. I am really glad you like it. Hope my noise marines will give you some surprise, too. It's 3:00am in Shanghai now, and I have to sleep now. I will post the picture when I home tomorrow.

Very, very nice Dread you've got there, charalice. I'm anxious to see more of your work.

15-08-2007, 21:20
Wow. Excellent work on that dread, as well as the color hue for your Emperor's Children. I really like that darker pink/purple tone. Other Slaanesh armies always have a light pink that just looks kind of strange, but the color you have looks great.

Look forward to seeing more!

That dread is SEX!!! :D:D

Never seen the FW EC dread before. Nice model and a great paintjob. Should be an interesting thread. Look forward to more.

Same here, so unique. Great work on the flesh, great blending

Today's progress, I have completed the conversion of my first 4 noise marines. These guys are armed with sonic blasters, which give a decent amount of shots up to 24 inches.

They are converted with a big mouth! Hope you like them!
the last one is my favorite

Are those Empire figure heads? Great conversions! They remind me of the Emperor's Children art where they look almost Nurgle-like (in a good way).
Can't wait to see this lot painted!

16-08-2007, 17:02
That's some nice converting done there.

I want to see the four marines painted now! *spams F5*

Yes, they are from empire flagellant regiments. I cut off the part beneath the nose, then combined the 'ball' of the backpack.

I am going to prime them tomorrow, and try to fininsh painting them on Sunday.

Yes, those will do nicely! Great stuff once again, charalice. With the standard of painting you've displayed on the Dreadnought, I have a feeling that Noise Marine is going to be very, very pretty.

quite simple awesome, you should paint lucius the eternal

Looking good. I love the paintjob on the dreadnaught, and the conversions are looking ace! Keep it up.

the dread looks awesome.

one thing i seem to take from the new chaos book is that GW really likes the idea of combined forces. So if you can decide between the emperors children scheme and the flawless host scheme - dont! Have both! Perhaps the majority in one scheme, with a small warband of the other joining in the party (after all, slaanesh throws the best parties)

Oh my golly! Those are simply dope my friend, far out isht. The pink and black on that dread is so clean and crisp, your painting is astounding. Those emperors children conversions are sick too, the heads are simply "Slaaneshi". I'm subscribed to this thread, stoked to see mroe updates.

Hey, Zark. It's a pleasure to see you here. Why don't you put your other great work on this forum?

Hi, great work......... I have had an Emperors Children Army on my to do list for quite some time, just thought i would share the direction i was going to take with my models....

Pre-heresy the Emperors Children were regarded as the "perfect" example of a Space Marine Legion and as a result the Emperor granted them the useage of his personal Icon, the Aquila. At the time they were they only legion to recive the Honour and this created a rift between the Emperors Children and various other Legions of the time, In particular the Dark Angels and Space Wolves whose victory's far outwayed those of the Emperors Children.

Each and every Emperors Children Marine in the Legion took great pride in the fact that they were deamed better than all others by the emperor himself. When the Heresy began the traitor legions gleaming battle armour was corrupted to show there new allegiance to the dark gods, but the legions kept there insignias so there enemies knew who they were fighting, so The Emperors Children kept the Aquila and use it still as there icon.

I'm sure they get there jollys off reminding loyalist scum that the emperor favoured them above all others. so all my marines and terminators will use aquilla chest plates taken from space marine plastics.

VERY nice dread. shame about the sonic blasters on it being unusable in game terms now :(

Echoing everyone else here, but that is simply outstanding work there.

Subtle conversions and a clean paint job.

Well done.
