Asking directly for rules is against the forums posting guidelines.
Please use proper english (grammar, punctuation, capital letters) according to the posting guidelines.

It has the same stats as the Griffon's mortar.

Which is the same as HH railgun submunition shot. Range same as lascannon.

While we are at the heavy mortar as compared to the Griffon.

Rereading the rules in IA5 carefully, I got the impression that the Heavy Mortar should use the 3" template. FW took care to always use "5" template" when they want to use the larger template, and the cost vs. the Thudd Gun also indicate less efficiency then the 5" would yield.

The only point speaking for the 5" template is the description in the "siege shell", but that just seems to be copy/pasted from the Griffon without further edition - the actual entry for the HM does not even include point cost for the special shells.

Any comments upon this? Pie plates for below 50 pts are simply too good to be true...

Ordnance (or ordnance barrage in this case) use big pie plate unless officially written they dont.

Well, the griffon itself is only 1,5 times that cost, and that has an armoured chasis to go with the pie plate.

All in all, for a non-MEQ busting pie plate, 50 points seems reasonable. Remember it takes a HS slot that could also be filled with heavy guard armour.
