I've been playing around with the lists since I got my book and am having a hard time deciding to get any core but block archers. I'm thinking of running 2-3 8x3 blocks buffed by heroes (likely wont by a champ) and the rest of my infantry being elites. In previous iterations spear and to a lesser extent seaguard were decidedly better for the combat role but current archers are just lightly armored previous edition spear that can shoot, a far better proposition by my eyes.

I'm having a real difficulty justifying buying spear or seaguard units when I can just run archers 7x3 or 8x3 and force armies to come to me while taking 2 to 3 units of heavy effective fire.

With a block of PG (must have) and either a block of SM or WL, I think that's going to be a really hard army.

In any event, I just can't find a place or advantage to bringing a block of spear, particularly since the best save you can get is a 5.

Any thoughts.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A THREAD FOR WISH LISTING. KEEP POSTS LOGICAL AND TO-THE-POINT PLEASE.

I have decided to take up interest in the Lizardmen when they get their update. Needless to say I have plenty of time to wait but until then, I'd like some perspective on what the Lizardmen need in the next update.

From what they have in their range, I personally think that what they need, miniature-wise are some much needed core choice and rare choice updates as well as some more convertible character models to make your individual hero or lord. As for the rules, from a quick look-through of their rule book I think they need something to give them more of an identity. In my humble opinion, they almost have an Empire feel now.

Please share what you think the Lizardmen need.

Hello folks,

so I have some hobby funds ($275 in hobby store credit) and I get 25% of model prices. I have enough models for a 2500pt army and I am happy with that and don't want to do anything army related over the next 6 months or so.

So my frioend had the great idea of painting the big models just for fun! Sounds agreat idea and definitely a fun project for the next few months. My dilemma and hopefully what you guys and gals can help me with is which ones?

I already have ready to build and paint:

Giant
Ghorgon/Cygor
Slaughterbrute/Vortex Beast
Stonehorn/Thundertusk

So if you could for the monies above build and paint the monsters of our awesome world which would they be?

I am already thinking a dragon (DE one), Stegadon (the original big guy) and possibly the Necrosphinx.

Hi all,
As Nagash is one of the legendary characters in the Warhammer World, I for one would love to see an update to his rules and that god-awful clown-like sculpt. I can't see GW or Forgeworld updating him any time soon but I've create a petition to show GW how much interested and love there is for the character and how many people would love to see his return (if any). We all knew he rocked it in 5th edition and imagine the fun us undead players could have duelling with Teclis again! This is purely speculation and wishlisting and the petition probably won't go anywhere, but maybe they will look at it if it received 5k to 10k+ sigs.

Please help by signing if your interested in Nagash's return!
(To mods: Please delete this thread if it's deemed unreasonable, I wasn't sure if petitions were acceptable on WS.)

Hello to everyone. I come to make a call for solidarity to the community warhammera the 41 millennium. And special and strongly ask the moderators to allow me to propose this initiative somewhat unusual in the forum, and I apologize for such a crazy idea.

The idea is simple, ask anyone who is willing and able to lend a hand, send an email to Games Workshop calling for the restoration of the Sisters of Battle, the dear nuns sinister universe.
What do I mean by this? In principal, two specific things:

1) On the one hand, that GW do not forget this charismatic relege army and not to a section within the Grey Knights codex (as has been circulating a rumor-standing) or that the recluyan to a section of a little magazine ( as is the current situation).
2) And second, it is fixed by the outrage induced by one person, charging and passing by the place where insurance does not get sun, a background of over 20 years of history.
To be more clear, that the Adept Sororitas / Sisters of Battle again become the member of Ordo Hereticus camera as it had been since its inception, as it dictates the result of the Assembly of Nephilim.

The idea is to show that gambling GW by the nuns is profitable, so the more you receive emails asking about this army, more palpable would this fact: that the Sisters of Battle can make them earn money!

I know that's not the only disgraced codex, which even today is quite playable (I can vouch for that), and there are several other codex that need more than a renewal of the Sisters (like the Black Templars). But the truth is that no army (except Necron) was so hackneyed trasfondisticamente like girls. And it's time that we show GW you have to respect some of the history and soul of armies, not just dismember because a crazy fanatic would think do what you want whenever you grab a codex to renew (I've banned myself to appoint such an animal).

So, now you know. All who want to support this initiative, please send an email letting them know your concerns to this address:

Thank you very much for all your support.

Hey all, If this should be in the rules section and not here please move it.
I am hoping to do some 2v2 battles soon and have some questions, will also be doing a 3v5 but as the change of turn order in battle royal removes the warhammer feel and makes me feel im playing something else i want it to work as close to normal as possible.

I know wanting to do a 3v5 sounds odd but we are doing a tournament system and it will be the top 3 vs the bottom 5. do you think every player having the same number of points is going to make this too imbalanced?

What is a good point size for a 2v2 or 3v5 game? im guessing it will take a little bit longer to play but do how much worse does it make it?

Are they any cool scenarios you can suggest?

Do you allow allies to freely talk tactics or use some sort of system? i read in the big rule book that each player gets 2 "messengers" and if they use one they get a few minutes to talk about tactics and that is it, discussing it at any other time invokes penalties. obviously other talk is always allowed otherwise it gets quite boring.

How are the ally rules from the book? with a dark elf and a skaven player in our group of 8 and i don't want their teams getting screwed over. Are there any changes you think will benefit the game?

How do you guys do deployment?
I don't want the game to end up being 2 separate battles that just happen to be side by side (with little to no cross over) tho i also don't want to put too many restrictions in removing all a players tactical choice and freedom (eg random deployment)
Do you think playing diagonally would be better as it increases the "frontage" of deployment on a 6x4 table

Has anyone ever put a hero in someone elses unit? if so how does movement work?

How do you do magic? is splitting the dice in half allowing players a decent amount of spells or is it leaving the magic phase a bit lackluster, If so how do you do it?
What about spells that names a unit/race? (eg orc spells)
How do you dispel? id say priority to dispelling goes to the targeted player but do you allow the ally to attempt it if the target doesn't? (i wont allow multiple dispel attempts so if target player fails then the spell is cast) what about when a player buffs a unit of their own/allies and other non targeted spells? (eg comet)

How do you do combats with more then 2 different players units involved? does the combat res apply to each alliance or something else?

Do you use victory points per alliance, use an objective based system or something else?

Any other advice you have to make these sort of battles work?
Will add anymore questions when i think of them :)
