We will also be running an auction during the day, for a chance to grab some bargains !

How the event runs:
The tournament will use the the Swiss Pairs system, games will be scored as follows;
Win = 3 Tournament points
Draw = 1 Tournament point
Loss = 0 Tournament points

Scores:
Each player has the opportunity to gain addition tournament points by completing the follow criteria;
Each model must be 3 colours minimum = 1 tournament point
Each model must be WYSIWYG = 1 tournament point
Each model must be Fully Based = 1 tournament point
Each model must is Highly detailed = 1 tournament point

Army Composition
Each player has 1850 points to create their force, and must follow all the rules for selecting your force as listed in the rulebook. Each player may also utilise the optional additions to the force organisation chart, allies and fortifications, follow all the rules as listed in the Warhammer 40k rulebook and current 6th edition FAQ’s.

You must use the same army list in all of your games.
Please remember you can only spend up to and including 1850 points, not even one point over!

The standard Force Organisation Chart will be used for this tournament and armies must comply with all army selection rules and restrictions of their own codex.
Special characters may be taken.

Only the official, latest edition of the codex’s may be used.
Additionally, units from forge world with the 40,000 approved stamp, may be used providing you have a copy of the rules for that choice.

Rules

Rules as of 03 June 2013:

Armies will consist of 1850 points or less, consisting of a Primary Detachment using the standard Force Organization Chart. You may optionally take a single Allied Detachment and/or a single Fortification.

Players MUST use the same army list throughout the tournament.
The following codices (print or iBooks version) are allowed in the Warhammer 40K Championships: Codex Black Templars, Codex Blood Angels, Codex Chaos Daemons, Codex Chaos Space Marines, Codex Dark Angels, Codex Dark Eldar, Codex Eldar, Codex Grey Knights, Codex Imperial Guard , Codex Necrons, Codex Orks, Codex Sisters of Battle (White Dwarf #380/381), Codex Space Marines, Codex Space Wolves, Codex Tau Empire, Codex Tyranids.
New codices that are released after August 15, 2013 will not be allowed in the 2013 Michigan GT.
The Warhammer 40,000 6th Edition Rules,Death from the Skies Compendium (unit rules, wargear and army list entries only) and all relevant Games Workshop Errata and FAQs will be used.
Michigan GT Judges will be used to resolve additional rules disputes.
Forge World/Imperial Armor units are NOT allowed in the Warhammer 40K Championships; however players may still use their Forge World models to represent a unit from their codex.
Warlord Traits will be determined per the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook (pg.111) or appropriate Codex prior to the start of each game.
Per the Warhammer 40K Rulebook v1.3 FAQ(pg. 9):At the start of each game, prior to deployment, players may choose to select the psychic powers listed in their Codex as normal OR swap them for a number of rolls on the psychic disciplines tables per the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook (pg. 418). Unless a unit or character specifically states otherwise, you MAY NOT mix and match Codex and rulebook powers. Psychic powers purchased from a Codex must be clearly indicated on your army list.
The following rules will be used in some or all of the Michigan GT missions: Night Fighting,Reserves,Heavy Metal, Fast Recon, The Relic, Mysterious Objectives and Mysterious Terrain. Each mission will denote how/when these rules come into play.
Each player MUST bring a total of THREE (3)tactical markers based on 40mm circular bases.
A separate printed army list is required for the judges and each of your opponents (minimum of 7 copies required).
Each player must bring a Warhammer 40,000 rulebook and the codex (or codices)represented in their army and all materials needed to play a game/report the results‐including dice, measuring devices,templates, and a writing implement.
All players are expected to conduct appropriate behavior. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
The models used in your army MUST be WYSIWYG and 3‐colors. Non‐GW models are allowed but should easily be identified for what they represent. If you have doubts, please contact us at support@michigangt.com. Send photographs with your inquiry.
If illegal units or rules violations are found in a player’s list, at a minimum,the models in violation will be removed from all subsequent play. Tournament points may be deducted and award eligibility may be forfeited.
Michigan GT Judges’rulings are final and arguments or poor conduct by players will not be tolerated.
Michigan GT reserves the right to remove players from the tournament or Michigan GT itself with no refunds allowed.

We are going to be hosting a player-organized Warhammer Fantasy 2500 point league starting 6/6/2013 at 7pm. If you are intested please respond. We currently have 12 folks signed up. Aftermath Gaming Club Norwich is going to be running their first 40k doubles tournament on Sunday 4th August 2013. Tickets cost £30 per team with a minimum of £10 per ticket going towards the prize fund.

DropZone Games in Glen Burnie, MD is having it's 1 year anniversary weekend and there will be Hail Caesar demos hosted by yours truly. The event runs from the 7th to the 9th of June and I'll be doing demos on the Saturday and Sunday. The demo army I'll be using is a Roman force going against the Gauls at the Battle of Bibracte in 58 BC. Hoping to establish Tuesday Evenings as Hail Caesar night there following the celebration.

It includes multiple Mega-battles, Apocalypse Games, Bring & Battles, Bizarre Bazaar, a 1750 pt Rogue Trader-style Tournament, and all manner of madness after midnight!

Hi All,

I have been able to secure the weekend of the 6/7th July in the Solent Wargames Club venue at the Royal British Legion Portsmouth (South) at short notice. Due to the short notice of the event it wouldnt be fair to interupt the normal tournament scene with another generic event, so this will be a light hearted charity fund raiser.

I have had the privelige of working alongside and with the The Royal British Legion, and have directly seen the benefits they have on ex-servicemen's lives. As such, all profits from this event will be donated to the Royal British Legion. A donation of at least £10 will secure you a place in this event (any extra is more than welcome!), plus there will be plenty of opportunities to donate extra during the tournament itself.
