my name is Lee. This is the first time I have ever been on a forum, and so everything is very new to me as I am not very technologically minded! It was suggested by someone who reads my miniatures blog that I join.

I have been involved in gaming and collecting since 1986 and Warhammer 2nd Edition, and playing since then (and Rogue Trader since 1987).

I have an extensive collection of armies, mainly fantasy and 40k, from the early 1980's onwards (although I dipped out of Warhammer in the mid to late 1990's) , and am in the process of a major re/painting project.
I am currently working on a 3,000 point painted army of each of the forces in the 3rd Edition Warhammer Armies. I have workable armies in all (except Skaven, but workin on that), and have three 3,000 point armies already done.

I also play the current 40k (Praetorian Imperial Guard mainly but also, Necrons, Chaos, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Orks) and have current armies for the 9th edition (Tomb Kings, and an unfinished Ogre army), although I dont get to game much at the moment.

I look forward to chatting about various Warhammer and 40k, as well as other gaming and painting things.

Coming back to Warhammer 40k after about a 5 year hiatus and was sad to find my old community (Tau Online) in ruins. Hoping to find a new home for myself here. I'm a die-hard Eldar fan, and while I love playing the game I'm probably more of a hobbyist. Expect many build, conversion, and paint logs to come :).

I was in Amsterdam recently and walked past a Games Workshop. Being chronically curious I walked in and spent some time. Great guys there introduced me to this whole new world and now that I'm home (in Arnhem) Í catch myself stille being intrigued. So I googled and found this forum. So here is my introduction:

My name is Artio (goddess of bears), I have no clue as to what the whole killing-army-game-fantasy-stuff is about. But I'm interested. Would be nice to have an opportunity to learn some more. I think the painting of the figurines (is that the term?) might be fun. I am a bit of a girly girl, but I'm guessing the whole strategic stuff is right up my alley.

I've never had a single figurine in my life, so I'm still wondering what game might suit me best. I think I'm drown to Warhammer, but I'm not sure.

Random question: why is everyone talking English? I'm just adapting, but still wonder why..... is is part of the magic?

I am new to the boards but far from new to the hobby. I am a long time Eldar and Space Marine player, with the upstart Tau making their way in my play list. I play with several friends on a casual basis but am beginning my foray into the world of tournaments. I tend to play very fluffy lists because I choose armies based on their fluff and looks. (Why my smurfs are on the shelf)

I am a long time lurker, first time poster. I figure it was time I introduce myself and get feedback on various things involving 40k, fantasy, and other various Wargames.

I primarily play 40k and Hordes/Warmachine with some friends of mine, play video games a plenty, and im glad to have finally manned up and joined warseer. time to contribute.

40k/whfb hobby person from Helsinki, Finland. Been collecting GW models since 2003'ish. Since moving away from my home town in 2008, I haven't found time to play and collect as much as I used to.
Currently sitting in my cabinet are Beast Men, Dwarfs, Ogres and Dark Angels. I'm looking to get into Tyranids this year.

Hi everyone :)

I have noticed over the past year that Forge World have been (discontinuing?) products, such as the Aquila Lander and, recently, a Death Korps Infantry squad (firing poses).
As FW make amazing models, and the ones that have been going are still in 40K lore and have rules that are still viable and active; why are these models being taken off the FW website, and
are they still availiable to order via direct messaging (although in the catalogue it states that all products are on the website, as far as I know). I have been planning to buy the DKOK squad mentioned
and can't see why they would have stopped making it, all of the Krieg armies i've seen have at least one squad, making them at least as popular as the ones still being made. Sorry if this sounds like a
rant or like i'm overreacting but it really annoys me...

Any help (and answers!) would be greatly appreciated thanks :)
