As mentioned on the whole this is the rough template for the list, I have seaguard ellyrian reavers to swap out against bigger more horde like armies and also sisters of avalorn which i'd like to try in place of the phoenix at some point

Idea is to have a mage in each of the special units making the swordmasters ethereal whenever i can bolstering the survivability added by the world dragon banner and also boosting the phoenix guard ward whilst casting.

I'm not too sure whether to use high lore again for level 2 or something else

Anyway would love to know thoughts and criticisms etc so feel free to comment :)

Falls just at 1997 points wise. The Vampire lord has a 3+/4++ and you never get to add str from any weapons when you fight him and have ASL so he will probably keep at least a 4+ armor save. He has ASL, but it is mostly for the reroll to hit. He has s6 on himself. He will hit on 3s most the time rerolling and wounds almost everything on 2s. His bus of knights are pretty formitable themselves with a 2+ armor save, almost always hitting on 3's and wounding on 2's with KB. Champion accepts other champion challeneges to keep my blender killing people and to throw some extra attacks when the lord wants to kill a good hero. The core needs to function with little help from the general. Mortis engine helps the lord cast with few dice and gives regen to the spear skeletons and improve the regen of terrorghiest and crypt horrors. What do you think

I just plan on having fun but don't want to get housed, I plan on pairing the Lord with the hellstirders. The BSB with the crushers, and the sorceror lord with a unit of knights. The Disk wizard as support for the Chariot wave...
I'll support my chariots and Crushers with the Disk BsB, and use the Knights and hellstrider unit to cause trouble elsewhere...
The hounds are chaff/throw away...
I'd love to get some Maurauder horsemen involved... Possibly with flails and Mok, perhaps MoS and throwing axes...

I have just purchased my first box of KorR and MaA will soon follow along with archers, so i wrote down a basic list of 1000 pts using only core troops.
Since it's only a small army, i think it's reasonable to concentrate on a few basic options.

1 Palading riding a Royal Pegasus, Vow of the Graal, shield, Lance of Artois/Virtue of the Joust OR Morning star of Fracasse/Virtue of Confidence (i think the first option is better suited for a charging pally, the second is good for a duelist one) 183pts

14 KotR with full command squad (360 pts) with a Damsel riding a horse, 2nd level using the Silver Mirror (155 pts)

30 MaA with full command group (177 pts)

20 Archers with defensive stakes and braciers (125 pts)

I like the idea of a pally good at charging stuff, but i also like the anti-character one. Anyway both of choices would be equal in point cost.
The damsel has no barding (well, not sher, i mean the horse hehe), but since she is in the middle of the second rank, hopefully she will not face combat so she will not need extra protection. Moreover, the silvr mirror should help me getting rid of enemy mage thanks to its 6-strong hit!
The archer unit should be big enough to cover a big portion of the field, having 2 10-man-wide ranks. No light armour and no command group, since they would be just a waste of points in my opinion.
30 MaA will hold the center of my army, engaging the enemy from the front while my magic-boosted knights will charge on the flank.
I have 15 of the (14+1 damsel), enough to get the best of the lance formation with its 11 hits on the charge. As i said, the damsel is there to boost the knights with magic, using Lore of Life probabely (the other option being Lore of Beasts, but i don't like it too much).
Any comment?
Oh, btw, i have the Italian version of the armybook, so i had to check on the internet to find the original english names for virtues, items and so on. I hope they are all correct.

my girlfriend and I were finally able to finish out long-standing (and long-postponed) side project in the form of some Skaven. I normally play Tomb Kings, so Skaven should be a nice break from crumbling skeletons and constructs ignoring about 1/3 of all game rules :rolleyes:
As said, we finished a lot of regiments and now look to build a nice list to field once in a while as well as looking for advice what to get next...preferrable some non-infantry stuff like rat ogres and such (though I think these are quite bad in the current edition :-( ).

The idea is simple, shoot stuff you don't like with Magic and Warp Lightning. Grind everything which survives down with 200 Skaven in 5 Regiments. Against knights, the stormvermin have proven very effective with their -2 to armor saves. My General has allready killed countless stuff in challenges, I am thinking about switching the sword for the obsidian blade, but I am not sure, the bonus strenght really helps... as said, normally I am playing Tomb Kings with a lot of chariots, constructs and stuff, so a lot of infantry is a nice change but I am missing the crazy stuff like ogres, hell pits and more doom wheels...hmm...doom wheels...

As said, I would like to hear your idea what to get (and paint) next and what to switch out for it. As long as I don't have to paint up an other block of 40 rats for the next month...

Hey everyone, I recently started playing warhammer fantasy and fell in love with the bretonnians, been playing with them for a few weeks now but still trying to get the hang of the game ( mostly a 40k player for the longest time )

Strategy is pretty simple. Just move as fast as possible to the other side of the table and start tearing every unit. Just make sure the chariots charge. Exalted hero goes with his Juggernaut friends, and make sure your sorc stays behind the dragon ogre's.

Any thoughts, comments, tips are welcome.

I'm primarily a 40k player trying to get into Fantasy. My local shop is having an escalation league and I'm having trouble building a 1000 point list. I'm trying to use as many of the models that I already own. I'm also avoiding Nurgle units. I've heard great things about Beasts of Nurgle, but I don't can't dig their aesthetics enough to purchase any of the models. Maybe some alternative theme'd count-as could work. Anyways...

So, I've always loved the Phoenix Guard and the new Phoenix models are gorgeous kind of an obvious inclusion for a PG themed army. The Frostheart Phoenix in particular seems like a great force multiplier in conjunction with the PG, that will keep even the meanest units from killing much and adds some needed killing power the PG lack on their own. The Flamespyre phoenix can make for a super Eagle in terms of harassing and redirecting, plus it can deal some nice potential damage to horde units (and I expect to face Skaven in an upcoming campaign I'm designing this list for).

I'm still fairly green at Fantasy, having only played intermittently since 8th ed came out, so any thoughts would be appreciated. In terms of additional models for changes I have more Spearmen, maybe 10 more Swordmasters, an Eagle, another Mage, and one more RBT.

This list is 2400 points on the dot. I would put the savage orc shaman with the savage orcs, duh, along with the B.S.B to give my leadership bubble to a 9. This list will have a lot of support and fast moving flanks. Black orcs will be big monster hunter and the fanatic goblins will be far flank attackers.

I have a thread going on in the general discussion part of this forum.
And I am thinking about making a Warriors of Chaos army based on
the more human/mortal part of Chaos. Kind of a Barbaric army hungry
for power ready to take over the old world. What I would like to do is
slim to none mutations, minimal use of monsters and if marked I prefer
Tzeentch. I don't have the new armybook yet but I have some ideas
of what I could use. Warriors, Knights, Marauders, Marauder horsemen,
Chariots and Warhounds. Probably a Sorcerer Lord and a BSB. I have no
clue about how to best equip these units and this is where I need your
help. How does Warriors of Chaos work best with the new book?

Tzeentch lord setup as hardly killable guy, probably wizards hunter. I would put him on disk, but the skaven opponent always turns off flying with his powergaming banner. I plan with him to stick to enemy units with wizards, often there is more characters than one, so I issue challenge, if opponent refuses I put less important hero to last rank and the more important one I try to kill. I can even get other units in a flank/rear, I'm not afraid because of stubborn.

Fast cav and chimera hunt cannons, dogs divert enemy units, blocks of infantry with -1 to be hit go straight to the foe to support lord possibly already in combat. I think with gws they have quite nice hit power.

Bsb with 1+ rerollable save and most of the time rerollable missed rolls to hit is also hard to be taken down, goes in one of the infantry units.

Lvl2 mage tries to restrain enemy magic till lord kills enemy's lord wizard.

For more points I think I will add knights unit for Lord to have look out sir either on 2+ or 4+ and hellcannon or two hellcannons (with double 5+ ward and 6T are also hard to be killed).

Your thoughts on the list are warmly welcome.
