Finally some decent dwarf plastics! Now a dwarf army on my shelf is actually quite possible.

The Army book cover image is down though. Could GW have objected?

Some more pictures from the German Games Day 2005 can be seen here and here. Thanks to whoever took and uploaded them.

    Re: News from german GD

Now if the new army book for dwarfs make them more viable for a CC style army I think I have to bump them up a bit on my "what armies to" list, at least 1 if not 2 spots

I love those models, oh and thanks for the pix.

    - Sorry

Just a note about the GD pictures sylass posted the links to. Did anyone else feel blown away by the Lizardman Temple City board? It is the second time i saw pictures of it, and i just love it, I wonder how long/how much it cost to make?

On the topic of the new dwarfs, i am really looking forward to them, shame that the link to the army book cover, and the second sprue don't work.

Snap together minis for WFB? WTF????? I like getting extra bits, to convert/customize, and i especially like being able to pose the plastic minis in a variety of different ways. Take that away from me GW and i WILL go elsewhere. Not impressed at all.

I like them, but I wonder how they will rank together, and if they are going to be more or less limited by this "snap together" concept. I'm still somewhat confused as to how it will really work, but they do look tasty.

I think there was an article in a recent WD about it, no? Not completely sure, cause I don't buy the WD regualary anymore...

I have the pictures on my HD and I wanted to upload them to our new gallery. Sadly the file size and/or the dimension of the pictures is too big for the current gallery restrictions. I'll try to catch Nick on MSN later today and ask if it's possible to remove the gallery restrictions for admins.

The article about creating a lizardman themed board in WD was lame, in fact it was worse than that! I wish they would release a book that showed you how to make a fantastic board like this step by step, not the usual "how to make wargames terrain" here is a hedge, here is a stone, here is a stone with some flock on, etc. etc.....

Come on GW lets have a book for people who would LOVE to make and play on a wonderful table like the Lizardman Temple City from GD! ............... please.......

Ugh.. and I just got back to doing VC.. now I'm totally tempted to start Dwarves.. the only reason why I didn't back when I got into WHFB was due to the Dwarves looking too skinny... this apparently isn't a problem anymore....

Oh well, we'll see what new rules they get.. if they get rules to allow them to play a more flexible army instead of something so stationary.. then perhaps I'll start the lads.

I remember browsing through an article about the Lizardmen Temple board (you mean the one with the large Skaven tunnelling machine breaking through the ground in the middle?) on the Black Gobbo Online archive. I think it was a rather detailed one.

€: *click* Hope this helps a little.

Okay, I read the article in WD and was impressed. This lasted but only until I saw the real thing! That was far more impressing than the pictures. Alone the amount of (painted!) minis on this board is increadible.

As much as I understand your wish to get a book on building such a board, I think it would be difficult to sell. First of all, you have to be intersted in this particular kind of scenery. Then you need a good amount of money and more critical a huge amount of time. It would only be practical to be build by a team. Not to forget, that you need a lot of space to store it. I am afraid that this kind of book would not sell very well.

A last point about the board: It would be very impractical to play on. Its dimensions are about 4m to 5m. You are completely unable to reach into the middle section. You would have to reduce it to a smaller piece to get it playable again, but then wouldn't it loose a lot of its appeal?

    Have fun,

    Rolf.

I'm really liking these new dwarfs, they look really good!

The new armybook cover looks good, and the new plastics look amazing!

Those Dwarfies are really good. Makes me glad that I haven't started building my army yet. If I'd have splashed out on 3 boxes of the older ones I would have been really miffed!

One thing that im wondering about with these new Dwarfs is that are the new plastic Dwarf regiment that we've seen pictures for in this thread going to be the Dwarfs that come with the new started set? Or will we get snap together Dwarfs for the starter set?

So, just to confirm, what are the rumours on Dogs of War? There'll be an army book along at some point, but don't hold your breath? (3 years+ ?) Minor interest in this as I've just spent £300 on a DoW Army.

    Re: News from german GD

I'm on the verge of collecting DoW, so i'd like to see more of an army book than a downloadable snippet, and possible generic pikemen plastics, or generic Tilean plastics, which could possibly be armed as pikemen, crossbowmen, or duellists.

    Re: News from german GD

Looking at the cover of the new Army Book, I have noticed a couple of things:
1.) What are those eagles ? They seem to be quite big... Could it be that Dwarfs will be able to field Great Eagles ???
2.) The Slayers in front of the main army seem to be a bit spread out... Those could either be characters, or a suggestion that Slayers will really become skirmishers.

On the whole, my assumptions seem to be a little too optimistic, but you can't stop me from dreaming
