Nice plog, I've read it after following the link in your sig from one of your other posts ...

I really like your Night Goblins, bright and vibrant.

And I may have a somewhat good news for you : the Orc Bully is now available separately in the "Collectors" or "Bitz" catalogue (I forgot which one).

Thanks Yeah, I saw the bully, but I don't really miss him, I miss the snot with the flag (I never take bullies).

Well I lied, I took a pic of my gobs anyway:

There's really not much left to do: the shields and the spear blades (to be redone NMM).

    Thanks

Here we got an antique taking a bath to get rid of some nasty and (more annoying) thick paintjob:

A cookie to whoever recognizes what it is (shouldn't be too difficult for those who were around during 4th/5th edition).

Yep I've been after that one guy for years, I'm really happy to finally have gotten my hand on it
It's rather small, in fact, a good third smaller than Azagh's Wyvern, for instance.
Anyway, I may get on my hands on some very old (and small) citadel wyvern, then my next "wyvern" step will be to get the oldest orc wyvern, the old that looks like a snake. But I've never ever seen it sold anywhere, unfortunately :'(

The day I manage to teleport items thanks to my willpower, I swear you'll have it on your desk the minute I realized I can do it

    "concentrates"

Edit: talking about antiques, I also got my hand on something ancient... skull crusher!

Re: The Gut'Reapa' (orcs and gobs army, probably image heavy soon)

Thanks. I'm in the process of building the dragon from Confrontation (couldn't resist after all), it appears to be really tall (the section which goes from the tail -touching the ground- up to the part just below the junction of the wings -the "shoulders"- reaches the same level as the highest part of Azagh's wyvern (so the big claws on the wings). To that, you can add the curve of the neck before it goes back down (ala older GW dragons), and the wings that go even higher. It really is an impressive beast (I'd kill to see the other Confrontation dragon, which seems to be at least twice as big... -and IS a propper dragon, with arms and stuff). One problem though: its left wing is going to be a real bitch to build: it kinds of wraps on itself to make a sort of half cylinder (see pics on the confrontation website), and is broken in two parts. So we have a metalic wing, quite heavy dispite the fact it's actually quite thin, in two parts. I have absolutly no idea how to pin it (too thin), but I can't see it staying in one piece for long w/o pinning... Hargh!

    edit:
figured a pic would make things clearer:

The top part (neck plus lower jaw) isn't glued yet, it's just pinned for now. The lower body is, in fact, hollow (it's two sides glued together), and it's in the process of being filled up with PVA glue to strenghten it (and allow me to add more pins, coz only one part touching the neck is thick enough to receive pinning).
The red lines show the two sections of the wing that are to be glued together... You can imagine how difficult it is going to be, I suppose. And they don't even fit so well (I can't do anything about that, trying to bend them will break the metal, and heat doesn't seem to help at all).
Shame really, because save for that silly wing, the kit itself is rather easy to build (well, I was rather nervous when I cleaned all these fangs - and the tongue >< -when you know how easily Rackham metal breaks, you're in for some cold sweat when working on very thin parts...).

And before you're asking, the reason why Azagh and Skullmuncher are so... grey and dull is because, well... dust I don't think the poor fellow has seen much action for the last 8 years, in fact, lol

Oh my, that indeed looks like a pain in the ****. But the size looks good. If repositioned probably the same size as the other.
Maybe I should go and get one too some time.

But maybe you could get a smaller drill and really small pins, and just do several of them?

By the way, I once saw the big dragon (something like Titan dragon of Arklaash, I believe) in real life, painted up and all. Now that is really an awesome piece of work. In fact, it is so big that I couldn't even think of any way to field it in WFB. Its just too huge.

It's barely a milimetter thin on each part, that wouldn't help. Nah, I have to somehow manage to pin along the "width" of the wing, and not along the depth. That's going to be some work...

Yeah, the beast itself is about the same size, but the towering position really adds to the whole mini. Nothing like the stupid GW walking wyverns or dragons.

Re: The Gut'Reapa' (orcs and gobs army, probably image heavy soon)

I've added a lots of new things in my army, but nothing worth showing yet due to them being in various stages of stripping, building, painting and so on.
Only thing done I can show you is that:

A tray for my hoppers. Yeah, it can't be used ingame or anything, it's just for storing and moving them. It's faster to move one tray from my shelves to the playing table, than two squigs. So I thought that I might as well make it fit with the bases

    Hop, an oldie:

Forest goblin shaman on giant spider:

(Blame the flash for all the little white dots...)

Well, I say "on spider", but since, for some reason, the giant spider isn't availble to heroes, that will be a... wolf-spider

Btw, I thought, for all these years gazing at my 4th ed armybook, that this bugger was somewhere between our current giant and gigantic spiders in size, somehow filling an ogre base. Well, nope, it's way smaller, actually smaller than the current plastic giant spiders.

Re: The Gut'Reapa' (orcs and gobs army, probably image heavy soon)

Well, it is not completed yet, but since I'm going away for a dozen days tomorrow, I may as well post something before going:

That's an antique, called Skull Crusher. It's supposed to be some sort of enchanted dwarf rock lobber, captured by goblins. It speaks and shows a blatant lack of respect for its new employers.

It predates the 4th/5th edition orc rock lobber, but both obviously share the same design.
If you ask me, it looks like some sort of daemonic gate rather than a dwarf warmachine, but heh, it doesn't prevent it from looking rather badass. It's much cooler than the current version, imho. It comes with quite ancient goblins that don't fit with the rest of the army, so I'll have a converted crew for her.
And yes, as the picture suggest, it works (and considering how violently the counterweight falls, I assume it'd fire quite far, but I didn't try with a projectile ). But I'm going to glue it anyway, I don't want it to work, it's not compatible with paint, and I'm not sure the hooks for the counterweight would resist a few shots.
    Well, that's all, cya!

Re: The Gut'Reapa' (orcs and gobs army, probably image heavy soon)

Well well, I haven't finished painting the catapult yet, but I've done other things instead:

    Please meet my new recrue!

That's the troll given to the GW staff for christmas in 2004. As you can see, that's one large ****, so I've put him on a 50*50 base, and will play him as a giant.
Also, two of my new trolls, with a darker colour scheme compared to the previous ones. There's 4 left to paint: the missing normal stone troll, one I'm converting into a standard bearer (why the heck do I want a troll standard bearer if there's no entry for him? Because I want too, and it'll look cool, who the heck gives a damn if he gives no actual ingame benefit? ), and the two bloodbowl trolls (river troll and Bolgrot the Reaper).
I gave an ogre iron fist to Bolgrot (on the "naked" hand, the one he raises), and have given an irongut great weapon to the water troll. I've also "greenstuffed" the ball into a fish. If someone wants me to, I can take pics of them, but they're not painted (and, in the case of the standard bearer, he still misses his head, given to my chaos troll, and details), so I figured that for now at least nobody would care about them.

Anyway, little status update of the army itself:
got 20 savage orcs (10 old, 1 of the current ones), a few more squig herds, a few forest goblins, all need painting.

Oh, and finally, troll count for my army (): 1 normal troll, 1 chaos troll, 4 river trolls, 8 stone trolls and that one 1 giant troll. Total: 15 trolls. To get: the two metal trolls of the normal kind (the new ones), and the three chaos trolls -in case you haven't understood, I love trolls).

    Voila, that's it for tonight
