That is pretty cool. I was gonna add one of those but did not like them with no base. It never occured me to build a base, lol.
The spider is cool too. That is my next thing to pick up for sure...
Right one thing that i have never got with this doom diver is how would it work... its a ace model and i nearly bought myself 3 of them on ebay other day but i still cant quite grasp how it works...
Nice paint job btw urgat! The subtle reds in the wings looks ace!
ThanksI don't understand what you mean by "how it would work"? Amusingly enough, I got this one with two others on ebay a while ago

It wouldn't work because the frame of the launcher isn't heavy enough, and even more stupidly it's on wheels, so if the goblin tried to walk backwards to stretch the elastic, it would either go backwards with him, or just fall over. It's why I don't have any of them anymore. They could be converted pretty easily though I guess to sit on some sort of larger chassis.

Exactly what I was thinking, the wheels make it seem like the elastic would be completely pointless as it would just wheel along when you pulled it.
I kinda do want to get some to convert though. Annoyed I didnt but then I do like my mega sized one
Btw urgat i aint seen you over at the log in a whiledid i scare you off with the teeth lol
Ah, you mean "in real life". Nah, it wouldn't work, indeed, but I just pretend there's a pole stuck in the ground beneath it
I've been busy with real life, didn't really get time to paint, unfortunately. The doomdiver had been painted a while ago, so I put it to fill a gapI'm currently working on the arach base though. It might or might not be done next week, and then I'm off for a couple weeks (I have not taken holidays for literally years, a change of atmosphere will be welcome). As for other people's logs, I'm usually a lurker, I don't often post, I just look
(but yeah, I still prefer how your mangler was before
)

Ahh no worries man. I do apologise for the teeth, it was a matter that the teeth were originally made of blue tack with super glue on to strengthen it for a while.
Was wondering what you thought to rest of army though loli have lost my mass commentors! Locryst is last man standing lol
I know what you mean with busy in real life. I am epicly busy now. so no more painting and making for a couple weeks now as I am today, graduating, then packing tomorrow, then travelling in night to go on holiday...
Ah, ok, I'll indulge myself in some mean criticism when I come back home (I'm at work and I can't see the pictures)
As for bluetack... so what? I got a squig I built years ago, it is made of... chewing gum(I made the rider too, xD) I drenched it with glue, and I mean to finish it some day, as it actually doesn't look too bad. I got it here too I think, I ought to post pics of it, I'm sure nobody has ever seen something like that

Your spiders just look brilliant, very good choice of colours!

Yeah, sorry, forgot to say, I wasn't convinced by Bitsy, but Betsy looks absolutely brilliant, the natural colours really work much better than I thought they might. You were the inspiration for me to order one, which I am picking up from Dark Sphere tomorrow, so I'll see how I get on with that. I'm already thinking the purple scheme might be a bit much on such a big monster.

Not much to add for now, been painting a couple things, but nothing worth showing. I just posted to say that I put a link for all the notable stuff in the first post, a round up of sorts. Voila.

I really dig your plog- especially the Orcs and Goblins posts. You've got a nice mixture of new and classic sculpts living (and battling) in harmony.
- Are you still planning on sculpting up a Giant Squig? I think I read that the wooden ball you had was too hard to wittle down- I've found luck with bouncy balls (from vending machines etc.) for such tasks- they're easy to cut up and they are true to the essence of the squig. In any case, I really liked your sketches for that idea!
Just finished reading the whole plog from the very start, took me about a week, but really enjoyed it. The best bits for me were the converted wolves, the common trolls and the rock lobbers, all very nice though. Lots to try and emulate here!! My arachnarok is nearly put together, pics soon I promise haha.

What model did you use for the War Boss on the very first page? That is one hot model!
Urgat? Mmmh, it's been a while... I believe the body (arms+legs) is a 40K ogryn, the head is the one of the metal ork... her... 40k equivalent of a warboss. The sword is made from the blade of a metal minotaur weapon, the shield from a boar chariot part plus a skeleton shield icon and a few orc choppas blades and goblin spear heads. The helmet is made from (I think) bent minotaur horns (I'm really not sure it's minos horns), a plastic orc skull, probably from an orc or skeleton sprue (don't remember for sure), the jaw is from some 40k ork bits metal sprue, and the crest is an orc boy bit, that you also find twice on the left shoulder pad. Those are also made from sections of pen, a skelly skull, and a few smaller blades, I think from knives that possibly were on the orc sprue. Please note that was when the online store still sold bits, I didn't buy a minotaur just for the arms or the horns, for instance. There's also plenty of epoxy (I didn't have access to greenstuff back then).
I don't like him much anymore to be honest, he's too squat, not broad-shouldered enough, but he's got an interesting gameplay point: even though he's quite big compared to the other orcs, he ranks up very well.

Where has sir been hiding!? Are we not to see anything on the greenskin front any time soon?
Well... I have no excuse. I'm looking for a job these days, it's not so time consuming (and I've had a few interviews already, I'm not worried), but when the day's over, I just feel no motivation for painting. Give me a month or two, I'll probably find my muse again then![]()
