    Design an Apocalypse 'single-model' Datasheet

As a partner thread to Dosadi's excellent formation contest idea, I thought it would be good to group together ideas for 'single-model' datasheets - the equivalent of the Brass Scorpion, Plague Reaper, Squiggoth datasheets.

This is a great way of bringing in bizarre models that you might have put together or bought over the years.

    Examples:

    Eldar Bright Stallion Knight
Originally for Epic, in WD126, midway in size between a Wraithlord and a Revenant. Photos.

    Superheavy Walker
    Structure Points: 2
Armament: 1 x Pulsar (as per Revenant datasheet)

    WS3 BS4 S8 Front 12 Side 12 Rear 10 I3 A1

    Eldar Titan Holofields
Agile (as per Revenant and Warhound titans)

    Points: 400?

    Capitol Imperialis
Epic, held entire detachments, including vehicle detachments such as three Baneblades! Photo.

    Superheavy Tank
    Structure Points: 9
    Void Shields: 6
    BS4 Front 14 Side 14 Rear 12

    Weapons:
Turret-mounted Quake Cannon (as per Warlord)
    Eight sponson-mounted twin-linked Heavy Bolters

Transport: 120 infantry, or 10 normal vehicles or 3 super-heavy tanks.

Access Points: assault ramp at the front (not usable by super-heavies), assault ramp at rear.

Special: May only transport units from the Imperial Guard codex, or IG-related superheavies such as the Baneblade or Macharius.
May drive through buildings and area terrain, automatically destroying them but taking a glancing hit on a 4+.

Points: 1500? A hard one to cost, it's far less aggressive than a Warlord, but the ability to carry tanks is... interesting.

With the void shields it actually made sense, as the tanks would usually get to where they needed to on the battlefield.

There was also a tunnelling equivalent, the Hellbore.

    Ah yes, the void shields.

Well, I still think it's stupid. But I'm not going to hijack your thread and complain about it. Sorry for the interruption.

Re: Design an Apocalypse 'single-model' Datasheet

I was thinking about trying to make a Captal Imperialis for my Sisters army, but design it more as a monestary type thing.

I'm also trying to figure out what the points cost would be to take a Baneblade chassis, and put an inferno cannon and Excorcist launcher in the turret, and make all the auxilliary weapons heavy bolters or heavy flamers.

Re: Design an Apocalypse 'single-model' Datasheet

Here's a couple neat Chaos-y ones. Using the new Chaos rules, natch.

    Daemonic Pact
Cost: 100 + cost of models
Units: 1 Daemon Prince, Chaos Lord, or Chaos Sorceror, 1 Greater Daemon.

If the Daemon Prince, Chaos Lord, or Chaos Sorceror has a mark, that mark's bonus is doubled.

The Greater Daemon is kept in reserve as normal, but is not rolled for normally. Rather, when the Daemon Prince, Chaos Lord, or Chaos Sorceror is removed as a casualty, replace it with the Greater Daemon.

    Greater Incursion
Cost: 50 pts per unit + cost of models
Units: Any number of Lesser Daemons, 1-5 Greater Daemons.

The Greater Incursion is kept in reserve as a single unit. When it becomes available, place the Daemons - including the Greater Daemons! - using the Summoning rule as it applies for Lesser Daemons.

Think of it as... the Warp got a tummy ache.

Chris, you're posting in the wrong thread, this one is for models rather than formations... and your Greater Incursion sounds very similar to the existing Warp Rift Datasheet.

    Anyway...

    Holy Fortress of the Ecclesiarchy
    SoB Capital Imperialis.

    Superheavy Tank
    Structure Points: 9
    Void Shields: 6
    BS4 Front 14 Side 14 Rear 12

    Weapons:
Turret-mounted Inferno Gun (as per Warhound)
    Four sponson-mounted twin-linked Heavy Bolters
    Four sponson-mounted Heavy Flamers

Transport: 60 infantry plus up to two Rhino-chassis tanks such as Immolators.

Access Points: assault ramp at the front (infantry only), assault ramp at rear.

    Special Rules
Holy Shrine: All Sisters of Battle units within 24" have Ld10 and may re-roll failed Morale checks.
Unstoppable: May drive through buildings and area terrain, automatically destroying them but taking a glancing hit on a 4+.

    Points: 1500?

Titan CCs I think are Strength D anyway, and definitely inflict d3 Structure Points , so maybe reduce the Attacks bonus a bit.
I'm not so up to date on Epic, but the Power Fist used to contain a battery of Shuriken Cannon, not that it makes much difference.
    Apart from that, looks great!

P.S. I like the idea of the Phantom having longer range Pulsars than the Revenant, makes it more of a Battle Titan.

Wow, you REALLY don't like tanks, do you? Minimum roll on that for penetration is a 13 if I'm not mistaken.

If you look at the melta cannon for the warlord titan, you'll see it has the same rules...

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's overpowered (It's a freaking titan), more just a comment that that's the single nastiest anti-tank weapon I've seen.

Re: Design an Apocalypse 'single-model' Datasheet

I assume that Hellebore is using the 3d6 pen like the Warlord's Melta Cannon, 3d6 against the target under the hole in the centre.

P.S. I forgot the Reactor Meltdown rule in the Capital Imperialis/Holy Fortress descriptions, as per the Warlord and Warhound.

Given that Strength D weapons auto-penetrate, I'll have to disagree on that.

Re: Design an Apocalypse 'single-model' Datasheet

    And for a warlock titan:

Fated: all enemy shots reduce their damage roll by -2.

    Psychic lance
    Range: 72" S: - AP: - heavy 1 10" blast.

Roll a d6 and add it to 10. enemy units hit roll a d6 and add it to their leadership value (vehicles use the majority leadership value of the army, superheavies add +1 to this). If the roll beats the target's ld value it is automatically destroyed with no save of any kind. Superheavies lose D3 structure points ignoring shields, and gargantuan creatures lose d6 wounds with no save.

The titan has the following psychic powers:
    Doom, Fortune, Guide, eldritch storm.

It may cast 2 of them a turn in addition to using any weapons.
    Psychic mantle:
This amplifies the psyker's powers. All psychic powers have a range 4x what they normally do. Each will affect two units instead of 1. Eldritch storm becomes S6 AP3 10" blast pinning. It may only spin non superheavy vehicles.

Its no different, really, than carriers in BFG carrying their own fighters/bombers etc. Or for that matter carrying tanks on railroads, or cars in those car transporter lorries. The CI will save on fuel for all those smaller tanks, and keep them reasonably safe in the meantime. Logistics wise its easier for the tank squadrons to have a mobile home-base to go back to.

Anyway, in terms of Single Unit things, how about this?

    CAULDRON OF BLOOD

    Armed with
18" flamer template Strength 7, AP3, Ignores cover saves.
    Armour 13/12/12
    Structure points :3
Daemonic Rage : The Khornate daemon trapped in the mechanical shell of the Cauldron of Blood will always tank shock when it can, eager to spill the blood in Khornes name beneath its tracks and on the blades of its battle scythe. If enemy units are within 12" of the cauldron at the beginning of its move phase, it will move directly in a straight line driving through as many seperate units as possible.Irrespective of casualties, enemy models test Ld with a -2 for tank shock.
Battle Scythe : models in Tank-shocked units take a s6 hit on a 4+ [roll for each model] No armour saves apply. Vehicles in the tank shocks path take a strength 6 hit and 2d6 for armour penetration, and are pushed to one side [whichever is nearest] LandRaiders and any Superheavy vehicles are too heavy and large to be pushed aside and the tankshock stops immediately if it comes into contact with either a landraider or other superheavy.

Points : 320 {???} i just picked that because it is a multiple of 8. I have no idea of the actual value of the 18" flamer template!!

Edit : perhaps it needs a few extra defensive weapons, maybe 3 heavy bolters, one each front and sides? I dont think the original in Epic had any other "main" weapons
