Aha! Finally Updates! In between Nefarious Cylon plotting (The New Galactica boardgame, which is awesome btw) I managed to get my army, a Camera and a nice base all in the same place to photograph. Camera monkey was unfortunately unable to assist due to epic fail but due to an idiot proof camera I managed 50% usable shots!

As a bonus theres also some of my Skitarri stuff at the end too.

Well, into the Updates, Finished stuff first methinks.

Command Squad. Heres the Final Lineup, Meltas for making things go pop, and a Power fist to make sure. Its moderately cheap, but effective.


And a shot Camera Monkey Took to show me the Camera of my Apothecary who still rather contraversialy totes his Power Fist (Well would you arge with an enraged medic with a Power fist?).


Another Character here, Captain Fortronus from the BOLS Campaign pack. Sneak Hidden powerfists are always a cool idea frankly, and heres him painted...


As he is meant to blend in (He basically counts any unit hes with as a retinue) I batch painted him in with the Assault marines. It gives a slightly rougher job than id like but combined with the pose, he really does kinda fade into the background. Sucess!

Devestators Next


Im happy with the unit, although I suspect they are slightly darker, not that thats entirely a bad thing ofc, It helps with the colour ambiguity. I do wish id given their Sergeant a Power weapon now, with all the flanking that goes on in 5th, but re converting a painted model could well be heresy... Anyhow Heres another shot.


My first Rhino mounted Assault squad. Im very happy with this unit (Although the eyes still bug me). The Skin especially clicked with them. Heres the whole squad.


First Combat Squad, Damn, the photo clipped the Melta bomb off the right hand side of the shot.. .Needless to say the Marine is kinda swinging it to bear. Annoyingly they cant have melta bombs any more, but maybe its a really big krak grenade?

Second Half, and thanks to Tom for extra Beserker bits, i felt some Chainaxes needed to be in there, and i love that helmet! This shot also has a better show of my Plasma Cells, although they look more Green in real life im sure...


So heres my painted models advancing down our snowy track...


Covered my Snipers and Devestators, and Backed by Assault and Tactical Troops...


And another down road shot, the Base is a simple 2'x2'Snowy terrain base, backed by polystyrene sheets. Although im thinking of doing some backdrops as this (And the mars base later) will be for displaying stuff in our shop.


Basing Question. Does the white go well with the blue? Do the Scouts look ok? Im contemplating snow bases now, even though they are the devil...

OK now the WIP Bench...

Vangaurd are up first, they are midway through Painting. Im actucally doing them slightly differently to the rest of the Army. They (And the Sterngaurd) will be wearing the Darker "Stealth" armour worn by Omegon in Legion, and so will be a touch more Purple. Anyhow, bear with me. The original squad was armed for AT Operations, so Thunder Hammer and Power Fist, plus a Power weapon to keep pesky infantry off. Its still not a bad lineup! Fortronus tends to hang with these guys in a Rhino, but usually in bigger games, they arent cheap!


Now Dreadnought Bayushi! I have shamelessly stolen the Torso idea from someone, but i forget WHO! In any case, credit to someone else. But I had a "free" black reach dreadnought, and couldnt use it as it was...


Now a Master of the Forge! I know! Most PH rule sets wont let me use him! But I had the idea for the model, and a spare Techmarine torso lying around (ish) So walla! Hes got a conversion beamer for zappy goodness, and an axe because it looked good.


The Conversion beamer didnt come out exactly as I planned, but its close enough to my vision to work, still needs a wee bit of filling maybe, Cameras always make things look worse!

And heres the back, I need a plan to make the cable change a bit less jarring, possibly a wrap around cable?


The Three New Recruits for my Jumppack squad... Still need Jumpapcks ofc! They were the first AOBR models i converted (Although the one on the left is from Macragge) And they are all simple eagle removals and hand swaps. Idve gone for full arms but im massively short on shoulderpads! And i think they work fine.


Heres a cool one... Stealth Sergeant Decimus from the TF Pack. Hes a variant Telion Basically, only for a Tactical Squad! The Helmet is meant to be a Prototype piece of kit, with cool sam fisher style goggle array. And exhaust free breather...


The Stalker Pattern Bolter is a simple muzzle swap from a Scout sniper rifle onto a Dark Angel bolter I had lying around, plus standard gunsight.

On to the Tactical Squads... Heres Tactical Bravo as it stands...


And heres the New Recruits, Courtesy of Black reach and a whole load of swearing...


Ok Left to right... First up the Launcher, I suspect the helmet is actually another random Mk7 Mod, but with some gouges from a Knife, its pretty close to MK4 Imho, and it saves me a FW head. The Next was a prototype, instead of chopping the model in half, I gouged his chest out an replaced with a plastic MK4-6 style chest, it looks ok, but is a lot more work! On the right we have an example of Black Reach legs with FW HEad and Chest, which is what most these marines are.


This Shot is my sculpting efforts. The Sarge lost his eagle and gained some new pipes! Now im not good with GS, but this turned out Alright. A Nice arm swap netted him a Power Sword too. Marine 2 is a pain. He actualy has a full sculpted Mk4 Chest and groingaurd, but the bolter covers it all! Admitting defeat (It was late) I glued it in place, the next morning I prised it off and the GS as dented and dry... Ah well... Hes meant to be shouldering Forwards, but the pose is slightly off I think.

More closeups. I like the left model, getting in for a shivving! No.2 Is another Standard Bolter boy. And 3 is obviously a heavy weapons chap! I used the CSM Version of the heavy bolter because it seemed more "insurgent" in fact all my other heavy weapons are Launchers, so its all simple gear, no crazy backpacks of doom!


Left Marine here is meant to be ditching Bolter for pistol, I dont know if I like it, I suspect he looks off due to having only 1 shoulder pad.. Plus 2 more Bolter Marines. The "Head Budget" called for another bare head in the squad, adn this was the only one to hand, but I think the comlink is a bit sergeanty, im thinking of a bionic eye to blend into it tho. Opinions?

Another Black Reach Addition, i was originally going to use the model for a statue, but inspiration struck! And he have First Captain Pech (Ala Legion) as his TF rules are now worth taking! (Hes the only way to get Legion Tactics in the recon games...)


Hes a bit Flasher than the other Characters, who are deliberately not showy(ish). Given that this is the Crusade Period, i assume he's dressing up for my allies benefit. He IS first captain after all.


Heres some progress on the Terminators, all Shouldered up and with most the greening done, Im now working on the second half of the unit (When i get their heads!). They also have Plasticard strips hanging down as kilts on some, and shouldergaurds on all, but stupidly you can barely see it here! DOH!


Now TANKS! First up my WIP Rhinos...

First Rhino has one of the Space wolf heads riding up unbuttoned. This head to me suggests speed freak! It makes me imagine the Rhino hammering along at high speed, enemy fire whipping all around, and this demented Driver with his head out and loving it! I hadnt noticed the wonky Bolter... Hmmm one of my housemates mustve broken it at some point...


Standard Vehicle here... The Front Name plates will bear Unit designations, India and Golf as I remember... But im tired!

Oh definately, Theres always an Alpha somewhere! Feel free to steal! First thing I thought of when I saw that helmet was Sam Fishers goggles, just needed a model for it!

Im proud of my heavies, although greenstuff still isnt perfect, they turned out good.

For Sternguard, I was contemplating Modding Dark Angel bodies and Templar Torsos to get a Swarthed in robes look, but given my budget and tmie constraints (Gotta get em done by May!) Im thinking basic Bolter conversions, I have a load of Storm bolter arms off the old Space Hulk terminators lying around somewhere for box magazines...
