As Dave has pointed out ive been slacking on the Plogging recently ill be sure to get some more progress shots up soon!

Nineswords, im mostly in agreement A couple of points reagrding the army bear iteration again though, for one it predates Legion by quite a while which means for coherency some things arent included, and its also primarily a gaming army at the end of the day, on a limited budget to boot

Oh and the Omegon Novella in the Primarchs ROCKS and has made me super happy

A novella refers to a short book - there's an Alpha Legion story in The Primarchs anthology called The Serpent Beneath.

Soooo turns out soon wasnt very soon... Sorry guys! At Least the primarchs is now on general release

So two squads WIP to show today...



First up is the Tactical Squad, made mostly of Forgeworld components with a wee bit of plastic to pad them out a touch. Now the FW Tacticals were a joy to build and fun to tweak. Some detail shots...



Left to Right: Meltagunner bringing to bear, a Plasma gun wouldve been more sensible in this squad but at the time I had no old ones lying around! Sergeant using on of my Fave power fists And Fave heads, truly favoured clearly (So will die a lot) and lastly a conversion using a Zerker torso and the ever popular Grenade throwing arm (No squad complete without one!).



Left to Right: Plasma Cannon, mostly to shout Pllllaaaasssma! I converted some Berserker legs from Dancing to Kneeling on the rock braced to fire and dancing is silly, Bolter guy covering his plastic chest nicely and finally Bolter with Alpharius head, always nice to slot a few in here and there...



Lastly a nice wall of meat, bits and bobs of plastic ahoy! A note on Bolters, for consistency, price and general preference ive stuck with the common bolter, but gotten as many stripped down chaos ones in as I had for variety.

Continuing into the Assault squad...



Similarly to the Tactical squad this is mostly FW with plastic padding, oh and Chainaxes because they Rend in the TF Ruleset (Which is nice). This kit was not a joy to build, the FW assault arms are awful and lead to some spazzy posing, plus separate hands are a pain half the time with Resin, awesome on plastic but superglue makes them a sod. Still is Seems the Mk4 ones im planning on using later have abandoned that idea.



Left to right: Chainsword advancing, I was sick of the arms so used a spare mk3/4 arm for his pistol which was for the best. Sergeant who is nice and nondescript Power Fists are usually better but variety is nice too! And finally a Meltagunner because melta + Jump packs is niiiice

And again the Meat wall Posing these was a pain in general but I think they came out ok?

Anyhow, im still going to be quiet for a while as im slamming together 3000pts of Zombie Cannibals of Nagash for a warhammer event in July but fingers crossed painting 200 mantic undead wont drive me to suicide so ill be back around then-ish (That said ill be here, just cursing and drybrushing more...)

Great posing on the new squads (the plasma cannon is my favourite), and I love the chaplain on the previous page. Actually I think it was a good choice of head!

This is truly the army that never ends! How many pts do you have now? The last squad is shaping up nicely, can't get enough of the FW heresy sets. And they just keep releasing more and more... I think you and FW might have some secret agreement. If not, you should consider setting one up

I don't like the plasma cannon...

It has nothing to do with the models at all though, they are great as usual. I distinctively remember my Codex: Chaos describing that plasma cannons were too large and cumbersome to be carried by marines, but were fitted to dreadnaughts instead. To this day we can't have marine-carried plasma cannons in our CSM lists...based on heresy era fluff... (well, oblits don't count!)

Beatthebeat: Well I recently added up 8ish Thousand for an Apoc game but ive added quite a bit since, id say about 10k points now And I really should, I keep having evil thoughts about expanding the Predators up to a Battalion with Demios' /muahahaha

Excessus: You are totally right ofc Id been avoiding Plasma Cannons for the longest while but was recently donated 2 and was getting heartily sick of missile launchers! The second might make an appearence too but thats it, Early testbed models? In any case the Devastators Im planning will have Heavy Bolters or Meltas

Ive also been naughty and done some work on my ARV tonight, Nagash be damned!

It was 8k last year when we had that apoc game, i'd definately be inclined to think it's around 10k now mate.

I like the Plamsa cannon use, considerably better than being sat in my bits box tbh I like both squads, they make a nice change in your army from MkIV, is this Tactical squad no. 3 and Assault squad no. 2 now? getting on there towards a battle comapany (and a hydra company, although my memory fails me at the composition for those at the mo)

Will have a chat with you about the assault arms, not built mine yet, but do you think they'd be possible to pin using fine wire?

Its Assault squad 3 and Tactical Squad 3, though only one other Assault squad has jump packs! Still a Way to go for a battle company, but for a Hydra Company (3 of Each + Terminators as I recall?) I only need 2x Devastator... Oh and some more Rhinos ofc!

I suspect you can pin the hands well enough, would be fiddly though! You may notice a lot of the Bolt Pistols go a ways back to add more surface area to the join and touch wood none have broken since the Building was done, i hope... (Glances at box of Undercoated toys...)

Still, despite dirty looks from the Mortis Engine we have content!



Yes thats the ARV Apfel at 90%, I still need to cover it in muck!



Its pretty battered, those utilitarian Techmarine types are all about getting the job done after all. The Dust should help moderate it a bit I think though.

Ty Dude, yeah the turret is something id been pondering for a while, good for a testbed model but the throat is a bit large

So I totally painted some Warhammer (The Deathmaster...), But Ive actually been further distracted by Alpha Legion, namely a Techmarine.


Built from bits and bobs i had around, mostly berserker with a spot of techmarine and Red Scorpion


Of course what Budding Forge would be complete without some minions?


Reclaimed Ebay salvage these boys scrubbed up nice They were earmarked for my Mechanicum force but that has been Shelved for the while, plus Alpha Legion! yaaaay!
