READ HERE FIRST - Background FAQ

    Attention WarSeers!

If you're new to Warhammer Fantasy, you'll no doubt be amazed by the depth of background available. The various editions, the hundreds of novels, the endless inconsistencies, and the input of scores of writers has left us with a rich, if somewhat patchwork, quilt of dark fantasy to enjoy.

Those of us who take part in the Fantasy Background forum love nothing more than to discuss the background, be it old, new, speculative or utterly canonical. However, there are some subjects that... shall we say, show their ugly faces once too often. We'd much rather not have to discuss the same old things, especially if the answer is no further than a quick Search or link away. This is where this sticky comes in.

Before you post, check this list. Click on the links. Read through the Ask the Longbeards FAQ. If, for whatever reason, your question isn't answered, or you think you have something to add to the discussion, feel free to post, but beware the wrath of the grognards if you ask one of the obvious questions:
    1. Who killed Valten? 1
    2. Are the Warhammer and WH40K universes connected? Is Sigmar a primarch? 1 2 3 4 5
    3. How are the gods connected? Are all gods Chaos gods? Is Khaine Khorne? 1
    4. The nature of Chaos - is Chaos evil? What will happen if Chaos wins? 1
    5. Is there good and evil in Warhammer? 1 2
    6. "Champion of Light" and what it means (if it indeed means anything at all). 1 2
    7. Who is/was Malal? 1 2 3
    8. Who are/were the Fimir? 1 2 3
    9. What happened to the Storm of Chaos? 1
    10. The Warhammer world and its real-life 'inspirations' 1 2
    11. What is the nature of the Lady of the Lake? 1 2
    12. How do greenskins reproduce? Are there half-orcs? 1 2 3
    13. Can non-humans become vampires? 1 2 3 4
    14. What is the population of the Empire? 1 2 3 4 5
    15. Are Blood Bowl and Warhammer the same setting? No. Blood Bowl is a parody of the Warhammer setting, and what happens there does not apply to Warhammer.
    16. Who would win a fight between x and y? Who is the most n? Chuck Norris, always

If you want to add anything to this list or leave any comments, there's a thread just for you.
