Ah yes, now that you've said that, I keep looking at it hehe. Will apply some extra snow during the next snow-session :>.

Also bought the 4th ogryn and an extra commissar today. Quality of life improved. ^^

Yay, more guard, and good ones at that! These guys look awesome, I especially love the Ogryns! I can't wait to see more men.

P.S. Wouldn't female Ogryns have huge hooters?

    Looking very nice mate.
I hadn't thought of Vostroyan Ogryns..

    Have to add some now

And I really don't want to think about the reproductive habits of Ogryns. Let's leave that to the warped minds of 4Chan...

    Re: Vostroyans!

Alright, some WIP pics. Last night I finished building the baneblade and I sculpted a shako on the tank commander to tie him in with the Vostroyans.

And here is the specialist squad with three snipers. Also sculpted a shako on one of the snipers to distinguish him from the same model. These are more or less my first greenstuff sculpts ever (apart from filling up holes and tiny errors), and I'm pretty satisfiedd with the result. I can actually sculpt! W00t.

Also recently finished is the Platoon Command Squad, just have to put snow on their bases. Pictures will follow this evening I suppose.

Now I'm off to build and convert the Leman Russes - they'll be equiped with KV-2 tank turrets (or Ragnarok pattern, whatever you want to name it) - inspired by Tinners scratchbuilt tanks (see the Imperial Guard treadhead topic). Thanks for the inspiration! :-)

    Re: Vostroyans!

Been working on the first KV-2 inspired Leman Russ today, here is a WIP pic. Still a lot of work to be done, but the basic shape is there. I kinda like it.

    C&C please? :-)

I think I agree with holycrusader:
I think the turret is a bit to high. Somehow it seems dimensions are off.

    All IMHO off-course

    Re: Vostroyans!

the turret is a bit too big, but i think the main problem comes from the hull, really too high.
    here is a kv-2 :

i think you sould better start your kv-2 on a modified basilisk body, just like this one, made by someone on a french forum :

it's lower than the standard one, but keeps the ig style. if you extend a little bit the body, i think you will have a perfect kv-2 for 40k.

    Re: Vostroyans!

Thanks for the criticism. I have lowered the turret by 0.5cm and I'm pretty satisfied with the results. IMHO it doesn't look too big anymore.

Please remember that these are still WIP's. I'm not too sure about the searchlight, what do you think?

Painting will start this weekend. This will be done by airbrush, in a camo scheme similar to to this:

Heres an article you might find helpful. http://us.games-workshop.com/games/4...royan5th/2.htm

Very similar to your design. I think some rivets and separate armor plates would really spruce up the turret.

    Re: Vostroyans!

    I just discover your army!
Great paint and great snow effect!
If not too late, it would be great to add shakos to the Ogryns. I'm sure they would like!
Regarding your KV2 conversion, I agree with Tancrede, the LR hull is too high but your turret looks good.
