    Thanks, some more updates...

First some more magnet goodness, readers who looked closely at the painted Devilfish will have noticed the attachments.

These are a Disruption Pod and some Seeker Missiles. With the metal and magnets I have hidden in the models I can move them around.
Disruption Pod on the left...(oops, some flash lines to sand down)

    On the right... (rear Devilfish)

Here is a WIP on a Marker Drone and another Gun Drone I have stripped and cleaned. (Not that exciting)

Not that exciting, but I promise the next update with have something much cooler.

They look truly amazing, its as if i should go role 2D6 before looking at them just to make sure they haven't disappeared yet, lol.

This is odd as I just found an army list I posted a while back, going for the same sort of colour scheme but my army is very much Stealth based with the classic Red and Brown for Stealth though?

Hope these no nosed Xenos aren't distracting you from the Guard too much

I love that effect on stealth suits, and yours look as good if not better than all the rest i've seen.

Well done on the quality and speed of the painting in this log.

Re: Captain Brown's Tau Painting Log (Over 50 pictures dial-up beware)

    Thanks for the comments guys.

As I mentioned earlier, inspiration from GrahamGilchrist and his Stealth Suits (his log on WarSeer) and Bruno Rizzo's GW Stealth Suits.

Sorry not as exciting an update as the Stealth Suits.

Here is the last two Drones I finished, one a Marker Drone and the other a repaired Gun Drone.

My unit of Gun Drones with all the Devilfish ones removed.

Perhaps later I will go back and paint the bottom of the flying stands.

I started the third Devilfish and tidied up the Hammerhead getting it ready for priming. I am still trying to figure out what to do with the Smart Missile System/Burst Cannons, I would like to have the ability to replace them at will (like the turrets), however with only the two sets of Discs and four possible weapon loads I am at a bit of a loss. Although I might glue the Discs into the Hammerhead chassis and then use magnets to swap the weapons in and out...

Now before I get carried away with tanks I have to paint some Firewarriors...otherwise my army will be all non-Troop Choices on the FOC.

    The long painting war continues...

    Thanks,

Another quick update, as I said I needed to do before I finished all the neat stuff, more Firewarriors.

    Firewarrior Squad advancing...

This brings me to 16 painted Firewarriors, only 8 to go.

Nice work so far! I love the way you made this subtle change to the original GW scheme.
As nice as your Elysians if not better. And an inspiration for me to finally work on my cadre again..

Hope to see even more soon.

those stealth suits are so cool! great work on those,

though im theyre too similar to the gW ones (the tau in general, not the stealth suits )! someone who can paint as well as this should be implementing his own ideas, not regurgitating the GW colour scheme!

    but still, great work!

Such a neat army bro, and it's a really kool and simple idea you've done for the stealth suits. Now just because I said it's simple doesn't mean it's 'easy and crap'. It's supremely well done, and I applaud you for it.

Thanks a lot, Captain Brown. You know full well that I am a poor student, and posting the pictures of that brilliant stealth team doesn't leave me with the option not to buy one myself and muck up the paint job miserably. Damnit, man! And I already have six of the old models!

As far as I'm concerned you owe me 24.

Never thought of it that way, but you are probably right, it does make my weak attempts at static electricity show up well.

Thanks, whole reason we have the painting forum, a chance to show off the stuff you have done, get some feedback and encourage others.

Sometimes the GW ones just 'feel' right, but point taken, they are basically the standard GW Tau pattern.

See above for the links to the two painters who inspired me.

Fellow sailor, sorry about that, I have 4 of the old ones as well and I don't see any reason the same scheme could be applied to them. Let me see if the modeling stuff I show below can save you some money elsewhere, by using one model to make many varients for the WYSIWYG crowd.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Now another update, sorry no painting I have been packing up some models for gruubii. But I did do some serious assembly and tinkering with the last Hammerhead Sky Ray tank.

    First the two completed tanks...

As you can see I magnetized the turrets to swivel...

But then I figured why stop there, here is Hammerhead #2 with a swappable Weapon...

Although someone might also point out that both tanks now have Burst Cannons vice the Missile Pods that where on Hammerhead #1 last week...

    The long painting war continues...

Nice stuff over all Captain Brown, but your tanks still have some nasty flesh on them, how exactly do you go threw and create that little electric blur on the suits, also are you going to pain the tau sept symbols on the stealth suits, keep up the good work.
