Yet another Caledor themed army...

I have recently began repainting my HE and I am currently trying to get a Caledor theme throughout the army.
In order to do this I am planning to use dark angels green as the main colour and white, silver, gold and jade green as the "supporting" colours. I plan to paint many dragon princes and their armour will be lacquered green armour. The rest of the army will have silver armour with dark green decoration.
I will try to refrain from using red since it doesn't really fit well with the green.

Eventually I will try to paint the new dragon (dark green and mean) but also the 2 incarnations of Imrik and his dragon. I will probably use the oldest one (and smalest) for my dragon mage's mount!

So without further delay here are some of the models that I have finished.

Looking good. I prefer the silver armour. The gold seems a little less cleanly painted...

Well these 2 are the first models I have repainted so far. The rest of the army is still painted in the typical blue and white scheme that GW uses. I should be able to update this thread tomorrow evening probably...

@Crube: you are right about the gold..I did it in a hurry The rest should be done with more patience

@Crube: I just finished reading the new WD and I saw the caledor themed army! As you can imagine I will definetely include a dragon in my list. And I will try to do it justice! The new model is simply amazing!

@Khorghan: I will probably drop the gold in favour of the silver. It seems that gold and dark green remind christmas to a lot of people

Nice colour scheme mate. Loving the gems. I'd highly reccomend giving the scales an extreme dose of shading in the cracks - would make the whole piece look much neater.

Gorgeous use of color, mate. The blending and highlighting on the green gives it a very deep look; I love it!

I like both the silver and the gold, personally. I think it could use a big more shading as Aflo suggested. Can't wait to see more; keep up the fantastic work!

Ahhh... high elves. Ahhhh... Caledor. Nice. I'm working on a Caledor army myself, and I'm using plenty of older models, so I'm particularly pleased to see the old spearmen making an appearance... I far prefer them to the new ones.

Looking great so far, the green and gems in particular are very well done. Glad to see you decided against red spears as well, never been a fan of that look myself. Something you may want to be careful of is overdoing the red... it does tend to clash a bit with the green if there's too much of it, plus is a bit 'christmas-y'. While the spearelves and swordmaster work very well, I personally feel the shield on the silver helm adds a bit too much red. Perhaps a white/cream shield with a red design or red scarf bit (whatever that fluttering decoration is anyway) might work better...

like the old-school spearmen, own a bunch of them myself and you're tempting me to get them out of the dusty box they're in and get going, if only I had the time

colourscheme looks good to me, very solid, not too fancy and I think once you've finished some units the colours will add up to more than the sum of its parts if you know what I mean, sorry for the bad explaination, am tired, keep it up
