Using PVA to glue everything together, toothpick is good for picking up excess glue.
Lessons learnt, get lots of those snap-off blades from the $2 shop, foamboard must be cut with a VERY sharp knife.

Indeed, foamboard is a pain in the ass on knives, but the $2 shop is a bloody good source for a few hundred blades to get through a decent project.

Devs right, my pack of cheap snap-off blades are half gone, (couple just fell to bits).
May have done the ledges the hard way, might have been easier to do them first and then cut notches in the uprights, my way involved cutting and fitting 16 bits for each ledge, bit of a headache!
You can see the removable roof section next to it.

Hmmmm, got me thinking about that textured spary paint, would be perfect for all of the foamboard bits, might have a look this weekend.

Get yourself some good brush-on latex primer, thin it out a bit, and give your foamboard a couple of coats. If you don't, the spray paint will destroy your work.

I now have four of these, close to being finished, I used 2mm thick strips of balse to help disguise the foamboard edges on the uprights, will add some details to the removable top once I work out how to mount the weapons, got some rare earth magnets that will most likely be used, on to the centre section next.

Used 3mm mdf wood to make the 2 doors, once cut I sat them on top of each other and thought that they looked quite good with the interlacing teeth, so made 2 more and glued them together with PVA and a heavy toolbox to squash them overnight.
I have a jigsaw that is mounted in a wooden box with a flat top so that the blade points upward through the table top, my own El-cheapo saw table, very good for doing details like this.
Lesson learnt, doors are a snug fit once glued, I imagine that once painted they will jam and be a pain to open or close, I should have sanded a bit off the thickness where they overlap before I glued them as it was not a five minute job to do it once glued.

One suggestion I would make is to imbed the images in the actual post, rather than as attachments because I am lazy.

I used to upload my pics to my ISP and link them but they are not 100% reliable, I didnt want any account issues with another provider stuffing things up, seen a few threads around with dead pic links, so Im not just being lazy!!

After much head scratching have worked out a way to get the doors to open, got a small curtain rail, cut to length, 59cm, and dremeled a cavity in the top of the door for the plastic curtain runners, used a paperclip pin to hold them in. Cut some card for the reinforcing bands and a Thunder Wolf to make it look pretty.
