Yay looking forward to the HQ! I have been working on the bastion templates but at 1/900 (2mm) scale and so far it's coming together easier than sculpting up IG or marine at that scale since I am making my own planetary empires. Thanks bugbait!
Doesnt everything look like grains of rice at that scale!
Can you post a pic of your work, I have no idea how to work at such small sizes!
PS Its not so bright in real life! - The picture in Post 514 is close to the real colour, its doesnt glow in the dark, honest!

Ummm . . . this is not a DoW HQ, but it is something I have wanted to do for ages, a planetary defense super gattling laser.
Gun is made from a shampoo bottle and 3 of its pump tubes sitting on top of a Ovaltine lid, started the building with the plasma power compartment, will have a control room/bunker on top of this with the laser on the roof.

Im worried that it wont be tall enough! it will only be a bit taller than a bastion, was hoping it could be used as a super bastion but will probably be too small.

Ive been working on the bastion you put up, i would atach pics but my cammeras being a jerk. Bassically i plan to have one normal size bastion but on one side have a wall leading to another taller bastion with a landing pad out back like a mini fortress. Kindove like the indomidable fortress in the planestrike book.
@ strapingyunglad, Hope to see pictures one day, got a plan for the paint? I have found a camo pack of spraypaint, one of the colours is a light tan, need to have a play + the baker powered thing TG recommended.
I love that indomitable fortress and it is on the things to make one day in the near future, maybe even a wolfy theme.

for paint i was thinking just a rusty/dirty black/grey. and as for texturing ive got lots of fine sand that used to be in a terrarium so ive been using that to good affect.
finnaly got my cam to work, the pics are crap but it gives you the idea.
Heres what i started with.

Just a little WIP. (and bugbait if you dont wont me cluttering up your thread feel free to tell me.)
I dont mind people providing extra inspiration, Im expecting a pic of it all complete and painted!
I like the idea of the extra long section, should look good with the gun sections added.

The control centre/bunker is together, with the gun on top it is larger than my bastion so Im mostly happy with the size, running low on foamboard so off to do some shopping.
