Outstanding. I really like the angles. Can hardly wait to see buildings on it.

    Lookin' good!

I'm loving the crime scene, is that a bloody smear on the sidewalk of the intersection with the Orks? Very nice!

I really like the angular approach to the layout. Seams should be negligible once structures are in place.

@GtB yes that is blood and now with more blood at the crime scene, I think the red needs to be darker but my Red Gore dark red has gone solid so I will get some more one day.

@VK I am hoping the seams will disappear under terrain.

Im making some barriers to as well, inspired by Borderlands.

Bugbait, your thread is always an inspiration.

Can we please get a look at a table setup with your terrain? Maybe during one of your games? (apologies if you have already and I missed it over the last year or so)

    That came out great.

    Re: Apocalypse 40k Terrain

@K, will post up a pic of my industrial terrain in a few days I do have some ruins and stuff that need work
@TG guess I have to make some dumpsters to go with this.

I should be doing more terrain to fit this table but I have started a project that will be my first with meatball containers and EL wire.

Excuse my ignorance, and it is still early in my day, but what is EL wire?

The frozen meatball container does kinda scream out that it should be converted into a terrain piece.

EL wire = Electroluminescent wire, flexible wire that glows when powered, produces no heat, my 3 meter section runs off 3 AA batteries, hope it doesnt look like something out of Tron . . .
I have been looking at a use for that container for years!

Could you please include something for reference in your pictures? There is a slight chance that i might consider contemplati ng the possibility of perhaps sometime in the future making a cad model. (Vague enough? )

Center area is 2.5mm card bent into a cone shape, second layer of card for the extra detail, cone is 20mm high at the centre so the slope is mini friendly. Large marble at the centre.
Templates layed out for anyone crazy enough to attempt this.

The trick is trying to find out the right amount.
Thanks for all the great inspiration TG
You can try the following - clear fixative used to protect pencil drawings or hairspray , then use your normal sealer.
I haven't tried them myself but clear sealer does make powders or pastels for that matter ,disappear.
    Hope it works

    Centre section getting close
2 lengths of ELwire will run down each support to the centre section and wrap around a plastic tube that supports the centre mostly clear marble (not in picture)
Im still thinking about adding more EL wire but I dont want it to look like something out of TRON, hopefully less is better.

Love your designs. Your Fortress of Retribution is an improvement on the GW model. Great job.

Hey, Bugbait... have you ever thought about making something along the lines of a grain elevator (what you might call a wheat bin or receival point)? As far buildings go, they tend to be large, with shapes easily reproducible in scale, but nondescript enough that I don't think one would look out of place on a 40K battlefield. There are plenty of them here in the US Midwest, so I find myself wondering how one might translate to the tabletop. Best wishes!

    Re: Apocalypse 40k Terrain

@Fugazi, I think GW dropped the ball when the made a fortress that was light on guns!

@SSG, grain elevator = storage bulding like this? -> stock-photo-prairie-grain-elevator so its a building woth a dropoff point, central tall building with storeage silos? Got a better pic?
I have though about doing the Tui Brewery that is world famous in New Zealand, it is a tall building that would be worth fighting over!

I have been distracted due to the local Chinese takeaway having this interesting container, I plan to turn it into a dwelling you see in Borderlands Fyrestone.
