3k Imperial vs. 'Nids (8x6 w/Heirodule, Imperial Defense Laser, etc)
THE EMPERORS ALLIANCE ON INSIGHT IV:
PLANET STATUS: PARTIALLY COMPLIANT - Colonization is hindered on many fronts (Nurgle's Rot is present in sub-sectors and certain underhives. Apparent subterranean tyranid problem detected by the assets of Explorator Magos Quaryn; Tau defeated, but not destroyed less than one year ago.)
FORCES PRESENT:
1.Most Beneficient Canoness Umata R. Issat, accompanied by the seraphim of Squad Ephestus, and two 10-strong units of their battle sisters. The Canoness has also committed one of the most sacred instruments of holy destruction, the Imperial Exorcist.
2. Two squads of elite stormtroopers from the local guard's 2nd company.
3. Massive contributions from the Explorator Magos of Insight IV include another Exorcist, a Land Raider, a full squad of hideously augmented arcoflagellants that vastly exceed other attempts at turbo-flagellation, and an Imperial Tactical Drone with a full retinue.
4. A dreadnought and landspeeder from the 'Sons of Mars' Astartes. The location and intent of the rest of the chapter are unkown to local officials at this time.
5. Members of the imperial cult (IT'S WORTH NOTING THAT THIS IS A DETACHMENT OF THE MAGOS QUARYN'S LOT, WHO ARE BY ALL ACCOUNTS EXTREMELY FERVENT FOLLOWERS OF THE IMPERIAL CREED. MAY THE EMPEROR BLESS THEIR PIOUS, VERY (VERY) LIGHTLY ARMORED SOULS)

mycetic assault with 5 fexes (sniper, dakka, and 1 close combat)
i won the bid for the first turn. i dropped in 3 'counts-as' callidus assassins and my flyer and did a ton of damage first turn. one of the templates took out 7 genestealers. first turn the defense laser dropped about 70-80 pts of gaunts. rolled good for my exorcists and did some wounds to the hive tyrant. the turbo-flagellants (assassins) completely blocked up the middle of his line.
his first turn he used the heirodule to waste my land raider, but it took up all of its shots. it blew up 1 inch and tagged an IST who lived through it.
2nd turn i took out about 100 pts of gaunts with my laser. he forgot about his anti-aircraft stratagem as well as his orbital bombardment, but i totally forgot to move 6 of his units 6 inches back before we started so we thought it evened out ok. i proceeded to shoot amazingly. my sisters came on in a rhino, hopped out and smoked the rest of the genestealers and the broodlord. the exorcists rolled good again and i took out heirodule and flyrant. the nightwing interceptor took out the gargoyles. 3 more turbo-flagellants again stopped up his line... i felt confident from this point. then 5 fexes rained from the sky and a lictor assaulted my mounted SoB squad.
they shook both of my exorcists and he blew the multilaser off my chimera, making the passengers get out entangled. he also wasted an IST plasma squad, the last 2 members running off the board.
3rd turn he forced my flyer off the table with his stratagem and still didn't manage to get his orbital bombardment. the laser again smashed out atleast 50 points of small guys and i did more wounds to his fexes with a 4 fex charge with my zealots (rerolling the hits rocked). my canoness and dreadnought helped in this huge multiple assault as well and managed to fell one of the beasts and wound up the others. my SoB's managed to win combat vs. the lictor, rolling an amazing 5 out out 6 wounds... we had decided to play to 3 turns and called it based on the fact that i had 2-3 objectives for sure and he could only reach one with fexes, and didn't have any other scoring units left.
