    Extraordinary out-of-the-way Monolith (Unfluffy)

    Heya!

So I went to my local Gw store for the first time in a couple of years :P
I bought a Necronpiece. Monolith, I thought of converting it in to a tyranid / nurgle infested monolith. Though I've got a few ideas but far from enough so if you guys got any pictures or anything for inspiration I'd be so happy if you shared it with me =)

    Well, that's it for now!

    Well small update!

I've thought of paint it white with a purple Cristal.
Thats what I've got so far on the monolith.

And I also though of making some terrain, so it's possible I'll post some futher ideas of a temple or something =)

    Re: Infested Monolith

A small uppdate, havn't get started with the modell yet though i've got some ideas and stuff.

Infestion 1: Some kind of Roseish looking infest with tentacles
Infestion 2: a Scar on the Monolith with tentacle growing inside with a Battle for Macragge infestions look

havn't decided if I am about to paint it white yet.
Colour schemes are all welcome =)

    Re: Infested Monolith

Sounds like a good idea f done well. Perhaps if you were to add some Gaunts running alongside the Monolith or a tentacle or two reaching out to grab some fleeing enemies, then that would look good.

The colour scheme could be a dirty white, with lots of grimyness and slime, and purple tentacles to match the crystal.

Sounds interesting. I'm not sure how fluffy it is though, but I'm open minded

    Re: Infested Monolith

Well, the whole Christmas thing is over and I'll probably have sometime to make some progress today!

I've decided the monolith should be wounded as the Tyraninds should have looted it after a battle or something =)

Probably gonna post the first Pictures today! (A)

If anyone comes in and whines about "How did a Monolith get infected, Necrons don't use the warp, yada yada", you can just tell them it got hit with a Vortex grenade .

At first, when I saw the headline, I thought to myself: "This'll be either awesome or really bad".
I am happy to say that so far, it looks even better.
I really like that gun, the 'Nid bitz look great. The greenstuffing as well, very organic. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you do to it!

    Updates!

Been a long time since I posted anything in here.
I had a major break, didn't touch a model for six months.
the last three month or so I've been modeling on a regular basis, and I've managed to make som progress.
Suprisingly, latley my sculpting improved alot. well, not alot, but still noticable.

However, about week ago I decided I was done with model and up for some painting.
Unfortunately, I havn't painted anything for a long time. About 12-18 months actually.
I feel a bit rusty, anyway I feel I got some of it done fairly pleasant, even if I'm not pleased.
I got all of the infestions done and I'm working on the base coat for the major areas of the model now. Working on a bleached bone-ish colour, can't work it out the way I want it yet. BUT! I'm working on it

Adding a couple of pictures. Dam, these close-ups is a confidence killer!

    Re: Infested Monolith

Back from skiing, though having a rough week in school. Also I accepted a spot in a soulband, having 2 performances in 2 weeks so I'm having a busy time writing some wind stuff up for the band.

Anyways, I've been thinking. Might leave the "armor", (what's it called? lol)
plain Bleached bone, I also had some trouble with the side pieces. The ones I did before was primed black and those who came with the basic structure was primed white along with the rest.
I might have come up with a solution, it's still paint in progress though I'll try to finish it up asap even though I roughly have no time.

Expect updates as soon as I can use the sun as a lightsource for some photos

    Cheers!
