    Librarian Markings - help!

    Hello!

    Does anyone know what the badges look like for:

    Lexicanum
    Codicer
    Epistolary
    Cheif Librarian

    (And did I get the order right?)

    Also, what does the line and arch on their tabards look like for each?

    I am *pretty* sure that the "level" of Librarian indicates how many "points" are on the arch... But I'm not completely sure!

    Thanks for your help...

    tabards:
    line = lexicanian
    line + skull = codicier
    line + skull + halo = epistolary
    (i dont know if Chief Librarians have a specific tabard)

    badges.. i *think* it may be the following, but i wouldnt swear to it
    lexicanian = scroll
    codicier = book
    epistolary = horned skull

    Actually, it's more like this. Tabards:

    Lexicanium : Line with half circle.
    Codicier: Line with halo (i.e. half circle with spikes)
    Epistolary: Line with halo and skull inside halo
    I don't think Chief Librarians have a special tabard. Check with how GW painted Tigurius.

    Badges:
    Lexicanium: Horned skull
    Codicier: Horned skull on scroll
    Epistolary: Book

    No difference in points on arch.

    The Chief Librarian, being a unique rank, is generally based on the Epistolary markings with additional embelishment to the armour and the presence of a more personalised banner.

    Jep. Back in 2nd Ed you had Librarians with different degees of powers, who had also a lot more roles in the fluff, than being a demonkiller.

    Think of it as, basically, level 1 through 4.

    Which, coincidentally, was the number of powers they could have, drawn randomly from a stack of cards.

    I'm not kidding.

    And I really loved the old psychic powers system from 2nd edition! I miss it...

    Re: Librarian Markings - help!

    interestingly back in RT (at least in Realms of Chaos) the Librarians rank determined if he was a marine/champion/minor or major hero, with the psychic level being independant (so you could have a 1 wound Lexicanian who was a level 4 psyker fighting side-by-side with a 3 wound Major Hero Chief Librarian who was only a level 1 psyker)

    fluffwise Lexicanii and Chief Librarians are both still there (see the chapter organisation chart in the IVth edition codex) they just arent in the army list ~ presumably Lexicanians would be too weak and Chief Librarians too powerful
