ok, as a lot of people know, i cant stick to an army for more than a few weeks. months at the most, days at the least.
i want to get an army done, all painted, converted and the like, and ive chosen the perfect army for me-
nurgle beastmen chariot army. i know they cant officially have the mark of nurgle, but no doubt in friendly games they will let me pay the cost from the hordes book. theres been no erretta yet, and it says they can replace their mark. no cost in the beasts book though, but hell...

this project will be a tale of 1 gamer, but mainly getting the damn army finished. i may give minor battle result and lists here, or just link to them.

so, ill get started.

im nurgle boy. 14 years young, a little (very) odd, overwight, have a good sense of humour, unable to stick to armies, and currently single (you knw you want me!)
the idea of this is to get a damn army finished for once, and to a decent standard. blah blah blah, first months purchases!

not so much a set amount, as it varies month to month, but hell-

nurgle lord on daemon steed-£15 (bought by a friend at £10. silly games day staff )
khemri chariot box X2-£32 (the core of my army, bought at full retail)
beastherd-£18
gothor the beastlord-£18

spent- the equivilent of £83, i spent £68

so far i have the chariots glued and converted (i had enough boars to do half skeletal boars. ill sculpt the rot on later today) the boars and crew. built gothors chariot, and converted gothor using bitz form the nurgle lord (sythe, and sword shield bit), and planned my chaos sorcerer, and bray shaman conversions. the sorcerer will use the standard monuted lord bots, with gothors spear, and the pointy hand, and hell be the only non beast in my army, even though modled as a beast. hes an exalted sorcerer, with the daemonsword (he kicks ass in combat, a surprise for the enemy), on a daemon steed. i may put him down to a normal chaos sorcerer if he keeps dying though... the bray shamans witll be part plastic, part metal, and lots of green stuff.

pics will come later, hopefully, and i may even start painting!

got it all converted, sprayed, and in the last 10 mins, i got the bases and wood of the chariots drybrushed...

got some nice comments at the store about my beastlord. pics of him will come tommorow...

ll try to scan the lord when hes finished, as the camra is the shitz.. although my friend did say he ahd a reasonable one...

oh, and if you wondered, thats real blood on my desk... but dont worry, i got that beastlord in half in the end!

The chariots look good from what I can make out. I personally feel that you learn how to use your camera most effectively - taking pictures with a bright light in the background drowns out the subject matter. And find something thatll get the best focus as awell.

Does your camera have a "Macro" option (No, not where it turns into a super robot and shoots a laser beam a mile wide into space)?

Macro enables you to take close-up shots without it being out of focus. Usually it is indicated on the camera by a little flower icon or button.

I very much like what you're doing there, but it just seems a bit pointless to me to take crappy (well, you know what i mean ) pictures and post them in the thread. No offense ofcourse, i'm just being a bit picky.

That is a very cool concept for a Beastman army; I've never seen a TK-style beasts army ever. I really do hope you get your camera problem sorted because you've piqued my curiosity.

Tip of the Day: If you want to make excellent pictures, you need to take away the background. The best way to do this, I've noticed, is to fold a piece of paper, about as big as a newspaper, and prop it up against something (it'll look like the capital L when finished). Then put your miniatures in this improvised "photo studio", GET RID OF THE BACKGROUND LIGHT, and start shooting. Let it take some time, and don't be let off if you have to shoot 45 shots to get three good. The keyword is: Patience, young Padawan.

And, to actually say something about your models, that's a great concept you have there, and I trust you on being able to finish it on time.
