Thread: Ash's ever expanding Imperial thread

Re: Ash's ever expanding Imperial thread

Yeah, spot on with the dozer blades. Same parts that I used on the other two (that's me out of old style dozer blades now!).
Not sure about the rail thing, I was playing around with some bits; the little ladder fits over the top and they wedge all the stowage in well. They may stay . . .
Got a nice gun shield, for one of the stubbers, from a 1/35 scale tank kit

    Cheers, will do.

Still building . . . two more vision ports to go. The resin aerials will get replaced with wire, it will also get a load of cam netting later.

Looks ace, Ash ! Like all the small hooks and stuff from brass (i guess).
Are those packs and rolls homemade resin or from some kit ?

    @ razormasticator: No, its ACAV

Re: Ash's ever expanding Imperial thread

The 'hooks' are bits of brass sprue from FW barbed wire. The packs are a mix of GW and some rather nice resin bits a friend cast up.

The stubber gun shield was rescued from a 1/35 scale Tamiya M113 ('Nam type)

The bigger one has the standard IG tank sprue bits with the plastic 'cable' replaced with picture wire.
The little double cable is from a Tamiya kit, well the end pieces are, the cable bits are picture wire again.

    Wow!
I agree with SDKFZ - even though your build are always excellent and full of wonderfull details and so much live, but once you slap some paint on them...they simply come alive!
    GREAT!

Just wonderful stuff Ash. I've watched this over the years but had lost track of it recently. Good to catch up. I really dig the AdMech stuff and the recent guardsmen. Painting is solid and enviable as ever.

@ Northern: Thanks, a few more bits to add; like this scanner/radar dish, kindley supplied by Greeble @ the most marvelous 'Ammobunker':

Both my other BB's have this part (from back when you could buy components from GW mail order), thought it would be a nightmare to find as I wanted them to all look similar.

@ Klaus: Cheers for the comments, much appreciated.

@ Hadriel Caine : Glad you like it, got quite a few vehicles on the go at the mo', mainly IG, but I have every intension of finishing off that Ad Mech LR. Even if I end up painting it brown and pass it off as covered in mud!

Got some more of Digit's fantastic BOARs, three for a project on the Ammobunker and a couple for moi.
Think I'm done with the build stage for these three; currently the hatches and tailgates all work, so I hope they don't get bunged up at the paint stage . .

Not 100% sure what to do with the other two yet, I like the Quantum Gothic radar dish version Digits did, so may well plagarise that. In the mean time I'm just playing with parts . . .
