    Mott's Colonial Defense Force Log

This army, based off a mining colonies defense force, whose fluff is under development (suggestions are welcome) had a log before, some will remember. However it only had 1 man then, the heads I ordered for them took about 3 weeks to arrive, so now its time to rock.

Suggestions and comments are very appreciated.

Heres the first 5 guardsmen I did for a test.

    And the Ogryn

    The whole bunch!

And the WIP Rough rider (his lance is seperate, scratch building.

Mally your bring up a problem i forgot to address, gasmasks for the horses, while i can can use green stuff, im not in any way a good sculptor.

I was thinking of using a combination of GS, tubing, and plastic\metal chits (for eye peices)

any suggestions for how to make horse gasmasks would be very appreciated.

This guy did a pretty good job making these horse masks. Although he left the eyes exposed.

Re: Mott's Colonial Defense Force Log

Well tonight i swapped heads and geared up some of my cadians from a poorly painted army made almost 4 years ago. (bought them at release)

Here is first platoon, flocked, primed and ready to be painted, I will also touch up the fatigues on my first 5, they look a little messy up close.

Any comments or suggestions, on things I should change, or units I should add thatd fit the theme are very appreciated.

Also, If anyone has any 40k civilian figures, theyve made, converted or bought from other companies I'd love to see them, i'd like to make civilians for this planet but i'm at a loss for ideas what should average joe 40k civilian from a mining world look like?

    Ideas please!

If you could find some of the Leman Russ tank crew figures they could represent civilians in work cover alls. You might want to swap the heads though, as they have tank driver head gear on.

Well the heads are definetly nice and I like the idea. Some special weapon squads could make engineers, which would be comon on mining worlds, but all stealthy is out of the question. Would propably be a well equipped regiment so I'd go for iron discipling, rough riders, ogryns, special weapon squads and close order drill/sharpshooters. Are you gonna use doctrines or not?

Very very cool army! I want to use Pig Iron heads myself at some stage on Cadians for a cheaper DKOK army.

What sort of army are you going for? Infantry/mechanised/heavy/balanced?
