Thanks. It's more for storage than portability, but as long as you don't have a horde army it should be OK to use this and maybe a backpack for monsters and whatnot.

I updated my plague marine thread at the same time as this, if anyone is interested.

Oh for storage, it's a great solution! If you were using it to lug around, then maybe getting some of those straps with buckles to tie them together would help.

Very nice updates again. The case looks practical and - above all - classy.

Thanks for the review of the skeletons. In fact, the Wargames Factory ones look exactly like what I was looking for at the moment. I prefer skeleton warriors to be as "naked" as possible which is something VC skeletons really don't deliver on these days. Hmm, Wargames Factory really slipped under my radar so far but they seem to have very, very nice stuff. Thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks, yeah, that's a good idea.

    Thanks mate.

Added static grass to the last Heroquest skeletons:

I have started a Thirty Years War plog in the Historicals forum, you may want to check it out, especially if you're interested in Warlord Games' ECW/TYW plastics. Here's a sneak peak:

Nice job on the skeletons. Clean, clear, simple, nothing fancier than the rust on the scythes. When it comes to skeletons I'm definately a fan of "less is more".

    Thanks sigur!
Here's a poor man that's been standing almost finished on my painting table for a while. I finally finished him now.

Apart from that (and the spaceships I posted in my Dirty Rotters thread the other day) I'm mainly painting Imperials now. Here's how the army (well, regiment) looks after about three weeks:

Nice! Kemmler's probably one of my favorite miniatures. Such an icon, really.

Imperials looking good too! Any particular reason for the choice of colours?

House: Yeah, 'cause I worship Santa. Or wait, is that Satan? I always get them mixed up.

Nice looking stuff, really like the latest offerings of skeletons. Not really a fan of the current GW plastics, so it's good to see a more classical look! Oh, and that Kemmler has tons of character, good job.

    Cheers,

The 30YW stuff looks promising. How large a force are you aiming for?

Thank you. The reason for the colours was that I wanted to see if I can get Iyanden Darksun to look good. I'm going for a realistic, i e non-uniformed, look. Keeping them generic also means that I could switch them to being French or Dutch or something if I wanted.

Thanks mate. I've found that setting goals are detrimental for my painting, I'm better off just painting what I feel like for the moment. I don't even know if I'll get to play with the army.

Yep - I can understand that. I had planned to do a massive DBR Scots Royalist army for ECW (so 15mm scale), but stopped when I realised how hard it was to get games.

Its probably a good thing that I didn't go for the DBM Mound Builder Indians or Hawaiians either :S

I guess that you'll be fine for 30YW/ECW games in 28mm scale though, with all of the nice plastics available now.

Real nice Kemmler! How'd you paint the skin? I've been contemplating an undead O&G army, and this might look good as zombie-goblin flesh.

Yeah, if nothing else I could probably play them as empire. But then I play so seldom so I don't really need a new army. I've only played WFB twice since christmas.

Thanks! It's VMC Green Grey mixed/highlighted with VGC Bone White.

Well, I'm mainly concentrating on my Imperial Thirty Years War army at the moment, but I've also been trying to finish some other paintjobs that's been left for far too long. These skaven have probably been standing on my table for two years...

There's more fun in my TYW thread.

The Skaven an Muskateers/pikemen are looking quite good Martian.

Really liked your Kemmler, particularly the eyes. Also, I'm always happy when you put up more Skaven, and they are some mighty fine rodents indeed!

I love the way you painted Kemmler. He looks downright filthy (don't want to know what's in his beard or his robe, though he seems quite insistent about showing SOMETHING...). His eyes make him look really deranged too.

I think it's hard to paint something to look filthy to a good standard, and I have to say that you've done a great job here. Lots of character there and very different from the GW paintjob.

Really nice glow on the necromancers eyes, love how a simple addition of a wash can make normal looking eyes into something spooky
