Great looking castle! If you do manage to find someone to play with you a siege game, don't forget a batrep for the rest of us!

Great work on your siege stuff Mrtn! Wish I lived near to you so we could get a few games together, almost nobody left to play with down here & I have loads of sparetime now....

These days when it comes to terrain and such I'm really a fan of generic, not race-specific and robust pieces. Just works best in my experience.
    Thank you.

Thank you. If you visit Stockholm don't hesitate to send me a PM, I'm sure you could borrow one of my armies and we could play a game.

Today I did manage to play a siege game. It was a team game, with 1500 points each beastmen and ogres against chaos warriors and orcs. It was a fun and close game which we (yes, I played my beastmen) won on victory points. The pictures aren't the best, since the light was aweful.

    Before the game:

Here you see my new marshes, pics in my terrain plog (green link in my sig) :

Here you see our gorger with siege club, it was effective at clawing up the gate and a tower.

My bestigors got stuck fighting the chaos warriors, those guys are nasty, even if you take options that isn't the usual cookie cutter. These guys had AHW and MoT, and still gave us a lot of problem.

I liked the new rules in Blood in the Badlands, they were simple enough that we understood most things but still fun. Our unit of the match was my gors in the siege tower, with the beast banner BSB and my GBS with jagged dagger they were great in battle, taking the tower on the first turn and then keeping it through two assaults.

Lks grt mrtn, i always like seeing battle shots like that in plogs. At first I thought the castle had some sort of giant horn gate until I realised it was a chair behind it...

Also cool to have folks use Warriors with unusual loadouts. I made the mistake of reading internet tactics and now feel weird if I don't glue halberds to warriors.

Nice battle report. It is great to see all of your newly completed projects being used together to create a brilliant game.

Nice terrain, the marshes look great. AHW and MoT on the warriors seems OK if not optimal. Recently faced a deathstar w hand weapons, shields and MoN and 2 warshrines next to it. Doesn't do much if you divert it, but doesn't give up any points either. Especially not after rolling 12 or whatever it is with one of the shrines. :-)

Be a nightmare in a siege game though.

Are you going to convert some beastmen siege specialists now?

Build one out of an old plank or something, siege games are fun.

Since I was inspired by the new VC release I painted up some of my Heroquest undead. We'll see if I can make an army or a warband out of it? The bases have been cut down to 20 mm. The skeleton conversions came out of necessity, since one had his scythe broken off, and the other was subjected to the indignity (by a previous owner) of being an experiment in "I wonder if acetone works to remove paint on plastic?".
The spade blade is made from two old skaven spears.

Hehe. One skeleton to chop you down and another to dig your grave, that is creepy

The Heroquest stuff is pure win. The spade idea is a great original idea.

    Heroquest stuff looks fantastic.

    Yeah, you should paint yours.

Thank you. And thanks for the idea to cut down the bases to 20 mm, I got the idea from the Heroquest skellies you painted ages ago. Were those ever finished BTW?

    Thank you!

Here is an old Witchking of Angmar, from last time GW had the LotR license.

He'll get a bit of static grass later.

I like the subtle verdigris effect. Is that a dagger in his right hand? Kind of hard to tell, but talk about old-school, when's it from?

Thank you. It's a dagger in his incorporeal hand, so it just floats there. Nazgūls are invisible, after all. The dagger looks broken, I think he's just stuck Frodo in the shoulder.
It's from last time Citadel had the LotR license, back in 1986 or so. I have a couple more as well, I'm painting up the Dead Men of Dunharrow at the moment.

These are superior minis, is it a sign of more undead in the future?
RIP Specialist Games, RIP Games Workshop, I need some pennyroyal tea....
