    Re: Skaven 7th Ed

Don't know if somebody already posted this (didn't see it in the round up, or 10 pages back), but here is the army book cover that just came in the GW newsletter.

    Really cool IMO .

I can confirm Deathmaster does indeed have a dagger in his tail!

    Re: Skaven 7th Ed

    Tsk, tsk, tsk...
You don't read my posts carefully....

Moreover, on the number of core troops, in the old book we had:
    Clanrats
    Skavenslaves
    Stormvermin
    Swarms
    Nightrunners
    Giant rats
    Poisoned Wind Globadiers

Now, with the exception of PWG, ALL of them can be put in ranks and they are all core.

I mean, a lot of choices, aren't they?
Why bother about rumours? Just wait!

    Re: Skaven 7th Ed

I see the comments on rat-horses has gone. Which is good.
Mounts are only for characters and ,yes, Nurglitch will be used a lot both as a Warlord and a Plague priest.
Ratogre option is another mount (indeed I have still to understand the use of it).
What about the third mount type? Stay tuned!

P.S. No, it's not the bell or the furnace
Something more like...I don't know.... but why don't you ask Thorgrim?
Why bother about rumours? Just wait!

    Re: Skaven 7th Ed

wardancer on the UE mentioned that rat swarms are non 0-1 and 25 pts each. Makes them a solid choice again IMO.

Please correct me if I'm wrong Muriat (and thanks for the rumours).
You almost got it. Last one not correct. Doomwheel has an Engineer riding it, but... no hero choice. Remember the Engineer in the WLC? Same.

BTW, Engineer (hero choice) will have a cost of....say 3 times the minimum number of NRs in the 6th edition. Why so?

    Replying to ULF: both confirmed

Ikit Claw will be a spellcasting nightmare. As well as being pretty decent in combat to boot. He will be able to use all 13 of the Skaven spells (warlock and grey seer ones, plague priest ones and the 13th spell) or can use any of the normal 8 lores.

    Priceless.

I have to have a go at making one of those.

EDIT : But that's not it.

    It is a litter.

Heres a definition of a litter : Historical, a vehicle containing a bed or seat enclosed by curtains and carried on men's shoulders or by animals. A stretcher, for transporting the sick and wounded.

Throne seemed to imply kingship. (unless you take the greek/latin meaning of thronos which simply implies an elevated seat).

    Re: Skaven 7th Ed

    Here's a snipit from theunderempire:
"Seers are Ld 7, bell or not."
"Plauge Catapults are str 2, no armour save, 5" template and if unit hit is wounded it takes a panic test."

Hmm..For the plague catapult we will have to wait to see the absolute full details on it and how much it costs before we judge its usage IMO. If its say 70pts (as much as an orc lobba) it should be worth its points since it can still hurt alot on T3 enemies (Elves, Bretts, Empire, Goblins, Pendant dreadlord, Other Skaven! etc.). I would guess that the crew would be a bit tougher because they would have to be plague monks or something similar.
So lets just say for instance its 70pts and it has the following rules and stats.
-Str 2, No armour save, 5" template.
-If unit is wounded it causes a panic test.
-Crew Frenzied?, T 4. Not much of a difference but its something.

    Now the rock lobba
-Str 4, No armour save, 3" template.
-Crew T3. (Not including the bully because he is an upgrade)

So the rock lobba is better at killing Quality while the plague catapult is great for killing Quantity.

I just hope its not priced higher than 80pts max for then it would just not be worth it is these are its full rules.

Fortunetly we have plenty of tools for dealing with High T troops anyway so its a nice change.

    cheers.
    A tainted being.
To Black Souled to let live.
A face of Shroud He Holds.
    Remaining unnoticed behind his Helm.
His Armour, leaking of a dark ooze.
    Dripping cries of lost souls.

    Re: Skaven 7th Ed

As promised here are the pics of the new Nightrunners box that i saw at my local GW. I asked a staff member about why there early and he replied the reason there early is that the store ran out of Nightrunner boxes and i guess all they had was the new boxes so thats what we got sent.

Maybe if we bought all the boxes of clanrats they might send the new ones early :P

    Re: Skaven 7th Ed

This arent my rumors. I just summarized the rumors on The Underempire. hf

    SiN is in
    still +1“ flight
you can still decline challenges and use LD for the unit
life is cheap only for slaves

    Vermin Lord is back
    Doom Wheel is back
    Seer LD7
    Assassin is a hero choice
Giantrat and RO mounts for warlord
Warplock pistol or muskets for all characters

    Clanrats 4 points
Nightrunner 7 points, no skirmish, one movement before the battle starts, two hand weapons and throwing stars included, still LD6 (9 with full ranks)
Stormvermin 7 points with halberds and option for shields, S3, 25 points magic Items for the champion
    Ratswarms 25 points

Rat Ogres 40 points, 8 points for each handler, frenzy, champion with WS4, A4, master moulder is a kind of unit champion with LD 6 and option for things catcher, no mixed units with Ratogres and giant rats.
    Jezzails S6
    Gutter Runner 6+ ward save
    Plague Monks no poison

Hellpit Abomination is in and „hard as nails“
Plague Catapult S2, no AS, panic test, 5“ template
Plague Furnance giant cencer pushed by plague monks, impact hits and gas
Warplightning Cannon fires like a common cannon with a 3“ template at the very end of the line, S still random, no AS, D6 wounds, crew doesnt have to flee, LD 7, ~90 points

    5 different weapon teams
    Ratling
    Warpfire thrower
Poisoned wind mortar, similar to globadiers
A hand to hand weapon team with impact hits and additional attacks
Warpdrill to tunnel for eshin units

13 different spells, 6 for warlocks, 6 for plague priests
    Double 6 is IF
D3 warpstone tokens for every mage at the start of the game
Warp lightning does only d6 hits and 1 still hits the caster
    Spell to stop fliers
Spell for -1 BS to all enemy shooting

    cheers

    Re: Skaven 7th Ed

A redshirt at my Local Game Store told that the Plague Furnace is a mount for a plague lord/priest. He said it works like a cauldron of blood, giving a bonus like poisoned attacks or frenzy to nearby units, whilst Pestilens units nearby either Hatred or Stubborn (he said he couldn't remember which). It also supposedly has Plague Monk "Guards", and can cast a bound spell.

I can see this being an extremely valuable, but it could easily be baited if the plague priest still has frenzy. I am not sure about the validity of this, as the redshirt in question is new at the store.

Warplightning Cannon fires like a common cannon with a 3“ template at the very end of the line, S still random, no AS, D6 wounds, crew doesnt have to flee, LD 7, ~90 points
What is everyone's opinion on this? I know some would like it that it would keep its old rules, but now we don't have the confusing firing flat or low to worry about, and we can hit whole units of trolls/kroxigor etc in a single template.

    Re: Skaven 7th Ed

Hey, I got some news. I spent a full evening pressing my source and....

Storm banner is like the old one except it runs out at 4+. Which I think is probably better than before. No need of BSB.

    Warpscroll now st 2

An item modifies the effect of Warplightning: D6+2 hits

Weeping blade: AP, D3 wounds (bleah...) Can be used by GR champion

    Stay tuned.
Why bother about rumours? Just wait!

    Re: Skaven 7th Ed

    ehi guys!

Asmodai on italian GW Tilea board posted a lot of cool 99% confirmed things (as in past for warriors of chaos nex codex) from GW official sources
    http://www.forumgwtilea.it/forum/ind...ic=93452&st=40

    Lord:
    -Skrolk
    -Ikit Claw
-Thanquol with Boneripper 1D6+2 warpstone tokens
    -Throt
    -Queek

Vermin Lord returns as Lord choice (no info about the summon spell thing)
lvl 4° wizard, WS 5+, good stats like a Giant but with high WS and fast as an horse (M7? 8?).
Rat Demon special rule (maybe it's the summon spell thing)

Warlord like in past with RatOgre mount, Giant Rat mount or WarLitter

Grey Seer with D3 tokens with Doom Beel as riding mount

    Heroes:
    -Snikch
    -Tretch
-Assassin with poisoned attacks, ASF with I8, dodging skill (WS 4+), SPECIAL scout rule and one or two more rules.
-Warlock Engineer lvl 1/2° wizard and/or can be equipped with guns and musket with also "Gun Sight/Aim" add-on item....so you can use him like an Empire Sniper with Hochland rifle
about the Wizard aspect, the Warp Condenser or Accumulator (don't remember) is an Arcane item that at 5+ creates a power dice....also for Warp Lightning it adds +2 hits to the result (but 1 still hit the Warlock).
it seems that the Doomwheel isn't an available riding mount :| ... (hitsu note: strange...i always tought it was a riding mount for warlocks!)

    -Chieftain
-Plague Priest with Giant Rat or Plague Fournace as riding mounts....Plague Fournace as doom bell must be pushed, cause impact hits and probably bonus for Pestilens units and probably Toughtness tests around

    Core:
    -Clan Rats
-Stormvermin no more 0-1, 50points magic banner and 15points for champion
Both with 4 available Weapon Teams.....Ratling, Warpfire Thrower, Poison Wind Mortar and Doom Flayer (melee blades machine with probable impact hits)
    -Slaves
-Night Runners in ranks with special rules Slinking Advance (movement before start...like Ghouls with that bloodline power) and weapon team Warp Grinder (tunnel)

-Giant Rats same but you can add a Special Character (????)

-Swarms low points cost and seems that they can't be plague swarms no more

    Special
-Monks the same, no poison attack
-Censer Bearers!!!!! with A2 in profile + 1 from the Fury!!!
-Jezzail same with champion at BS 4
-Poison Wind Globadiers as special choice 5-15 with available a special globe and the Poison Wind Mortar weapon team
-Gutter Runners no more tunnel but special scout rule, skirmishers and Warp Grinder as weapon team (and so they will tunnel again )
    -Rattogre as now but Fury

    Rare
-Hell Pit Abomination: 3d6 movement, Strenght Toughness and Wounds as a Giant , D6 impact hits + special attacks (probably similar to Giants), Large Target, Regeneration, Terror, Stubborn and 3 special rules:

"Too Horrible to Die" probably a resurrection at 4+
"Shambling Horror" (???? maybe about the special attacks like the Giant)
"Warpstone spikes" (???? i suppose it's something like shooting spikes like the Razordon Pack for Lizardmen)

    -Doom Wheel
    -Warp Lighting Cannon
    -PlagueClaw Catapult

    Re: Skaven 7th Ed

sorry i forgot the part about master moulder....

he is a champion model for rattogre unit (don't know if also for giant rats packs) with good stats and 2 Wounds and some mundane items (no magic items) up to 30points

    Re: Skaven 7th Ed

I'm not sure if this is news to anyone...

But I recently learnt a little about them that hopefully hasn't been said before, this is from someone who has seen the book, giving it a quick lookover. So, he could be wrong...

-Weapon teams function as they do now but if they are within a certain range of their parent unit they get a 4+ ward save.
-The 25+ spell causes 4D6 models in a unit to be turned into Clanrats. It can only be cast on models with Unit Strength 1 (hooray for my Bretonnians.)
-The Giant Plague Cauldron thing apparently has awesomely sculpted plastic smoke!
-Queek Headtaker is apparently very cool looking and has a Rat Ogre skeleton on his trophy rack.

If none of this is news then please forgive my insolence, I willl dye my hair orange in shame.

I think it's easily possible to calculate the GBP and/or Dollar prices by comparing prices with other kits. Some boxes to compare:

Clanrats/doomwheel is same price as the new Lord of the Rings Galadhrim Knights/warriors, Screaming Bell the same as new steam tank, Battalian same as Cadian Battleforce. I have nothing to compare the stormvermin, though.
Cheers Bram. Those match up with my product code pricelist I posted earlier, which provides:

    Clanrats: £20.00 / US$33.00 / 26,00€ / Oz$55.00
    Stormvermin: £30.00 / US$49.50 / 39,00€ / Oz$83.00

    Screaming Bell*: 45,50€
    Battalion: £55.00 / US$105.00 / 85,00€ / Oz$160.00

*I don't have these in my product code list so can't give prices for all regions.
    Void... blissful void.

    Re: Skaven 7th Ed

i got new confirmed infos by guys who read the codex:

-weapon teams all have BS 3 start inside the clan rat unit and then if they go out, they get a WS 4+ (i think only versus shooting and peraps magic) if they stay in certain " distance from the clan rat unit

-ratling need to roll to hit

-skaven lores: "The Skaven Spells of Ruin" and "The Skaven Spells of Plague"

-Vermin Lord is lord choice with
-cost like 50 dark elves witches
    -immune to psicology
    -special rule "Rat Demon" ????
    -WS 5+
    -D 7 or 8 don't remember
    -terror
    -large target
-lvl 4 wizard with lore of Ruin and/or lore of Plague
    -M8
    -WS 8
    -S, T and W like a giant

-hellpit abomination is really mostruous in stats and rules for a cost like dark elves hydra + 6 de witches
a lot of special rules but no sign of Tunneling rule

-doom wheel 3d6 movement, immune to psico, impact hits and another rule, for 30 old clan rats with shields

-plague fornace does impact hits, "blessing" (probably like DE cauldron to pestilens units like monks), Fury, large target,

-screaming bell like 40 old clan rats with shields....so same cost ....i hope for better powers

-no more skirmish rule for Jezails
but sniper champion (probably it can target heroes and champion inside units like hochland rifle)
