I've recently been building a Reaver titan based of Lackofs/Eaters plans. I dont wanna hijack their thread any further so I figured the big bugga deserved a thread of his own.

and thats were I am, have just ordered some mesh for the eyes and vents off ebay, now a case of adding gubbins to 40k it up a bit before I get down to the business of painting.

What do you think so far, am really pleased. made almost entirely from beer drates and a jelly tots tube.

Haven`t been following Lackofs/Eaters log, is it based off a template plan? It`s fantastic, what are you gubbinz/40King it up plans? COD parts?

yeah Lackof drew up the plans and Eater made it, I dont think he ever finished it though.

Dont have any COD parts, might be worth getting some. I also wanna hang a decent banner between its legs.

I know what you mean about the banner, but I really like the negative space between the legs, it balances out the squat/hunch backed look of the reaver titan. How about kill pennents or banner from the main (right) gun or maybe some thin long banners hanging from both sides of the head (kinda like a handlebar mostache)? Never seen that done, that whole Ming the Merciless look!
The between the legs banner just screams loincloth to me, that being said nothing wrong with that.

COD parts would be sweet, the manufactionuionnnn, whatever it`s called, set has Ad-mech skulls, Ad-mech= titan.....nuff said.

Can`t wait to see your next modelling update.

Looking good, but its...well its too small, Reaver Titans are something between a Warhound and a Warlord titan, not the same size as a Warhound.

its more difficult than the warhound but still fairly straightforward.

Its larger than the old Armorcast one from what I can tell. Its 13" tall to the top of the carapace and 17" to the top of the launcher. Its a few inches taller than the 'hound I built and MUCH bulkier.

was wondering through has anyone tried making it out of plasticard???

i built my warhound out of plasticard and have just bought an A0 size sheet of the stuff for the reaver - was wondering whether anyone had some advice cos some of the templates look like they would be impossible to do with plasticard

Hi Wollfe..

You can build the basic skeleton in cardboard which will allow you to make the complex shapes, then skin the model with plastic card to give it extra strength..

Just an idea..

Me & a Friend are attempting to build one out of plasticard. About 60% done now. Will Post Pictures and the likes on my own log later on.

Hey lackof, looking forward to seeing that.

I find plasticard really difficult to use, I might see about "skinning" it as you say, I have about a dozen .5mm a4 sheets doing nothing.

Gonna look into a COD sprie for the ad mech symbol, might even have a go at casting up more symbols (which GW seem to be ok with).

what do you think about a large Aquila added to one of the leg guards? Should be easy to cut out and attach and would give a nice raised design to paint.

Now I'm iching to do a Warlord(!). I have the Crusader plans, do I do that or wait for Lackofs inevitable Warlord templates? (admit it dude, you're thinking about it)

I think I have a decent template for a large Aquilla, it's about Chimera sized. Let me know if you need it.

Oh yeah, I love your work. I wish I could build up the time/guts to tackle one of these things.

@Easy E: I have an Aguila template from a Sisters rhino guide, should work great, thanks tho. You really should build one of these, I've seen your other work, you would do well.

Nice job on the Reaver.

I'm almost done with mine(and so I must now eat 7 bags of cereal without their boxes), and it was a lot easier than I expected. Of course, that could just be that I learned a few tricks when I made my Warhound.

Without a PVC pipe to add at the waist, I thought it was a bit squat looking. So between the Torso/Waist Transition and the Main Waist Assembly I added another Torso/Waist Transition piece, but cut the flaps in such a way that it became an octagon with no sloping sides. This added a bit more height and solidity to the Reaver.

Since the templates don't provide any trim on the armour pieces I made extra copies of the leg guards, the shoulder guards, and the carapace pieces. Then just cut out the insides of them, leaving some very nice trim.

It's all turning out quite well, but since I don't have a digital camera you'll all just have to trust me on that one

Finished cuilding it, have started on the serious business of painting, this might take a while.
