    Battle Fleet Mars

At GD i was talking to the specialist games team and i asked about BFG, i was told that they will create a suppliment book that will contain rule updates and rules for a mars fleet, that will look really cool as the prows are decorated with great big skulls

    Re: Battle Fleet Mars

You may have a look yourself. Still rules for the Mars does not necessarily mean that they release the models. SG said on their forum that the next model release is planned after Christmas.

    Have fun,

Altough I'm not a big fan of how those ships look, more BFG stuff is always good.

In my opinion, those ships look way too powerful. I know the Adeptus Mechanicus is supposed to be quasi-independent, but I don't like the idea of them having battlefleets with dedicated battleships and gunboats. On the other hand, it does make a bit sense in light of the fluff which has the Astartes and Mechanicus rebel against the Imperium during the Age of Apostasy.

Do you mean model-wise or rules-wise?

Do we know for sure that it will actually be a Mechanicus fleet? Perhaps it'll just be another version of the Imperial Navy list using ships with Mars-pattern hulls.

That would not be all that smart, considering the restricted capacity for Specialist Games to get new models out. If they're making new models, they might as well get new rules as well. Besides, I don't recall any IN ship that has 2 gun batteries and one flight deck on it.

Both. But rules-wise, I have a feeling these ships will be as powerful as SM battle barges, as they'll have all kind of advantages to represent the advanced technology of the Adeptus Mechanicus.

Mars is the main Imperial Navy base in Segmentum Solar you know... my money is on a variant naval fleet, not AM.

I agree. New BFG stuff is always good. I love the game and the ruleset.

    Re: Battle Fleet Mars

Why do they need a whole new fleet of ships? A new list, maybe one or two ships, and a few Forgeworld prows are plenty to do a solid Mars fleet.

@CELS: As someone pointed out, it might just be an IN fleet based at Mars instead of an AM fleet.

No need to repeat what others posted right before you (i.e. Post # 10), but thanks. I hope you're right.Although I wouldn't mind seeing some rules for some AM ships.

I will second that. And besides, I think an AM fleet is not likely to consist of such mighty battleships - it would have more explorer type ships.

Maybe it's just suposed to be the fleet that defends Sol or perhaps something from Battlefleet Solar
