A guide to Organisers and Rollers

    As requested.
If you love a Redhead, set Her free...if She follows you everywhere, pitches a tent in your front lawn and your new girlfriend disappears, you belong to Her, get used to it .

What you say about other people, says far more about *you* than it does about *other people*.

Re: A guide to Organisers and Rollers

Thank you starlight. Right this is meant to be a guide for new Organisers or Rollers, and contains some suggested procedures.

    For Organisers:

Generally a new arena starts with an entry thread, where you will determine which game, points limit, bannings restrictions and other rules apply to your arena. This is also where you confirm rollers, and check to make sure the players have followed your rules.

Once you have the desired amount of entrants (if you are doing a typical bracket styled Arena, multiples of four are best), you need to post matches, the fights between players, and rollers, the people who will do the dice rolling and writing of the story to see who wins a match.

Assign each match a roller, then start the Match Thread, where the written results of each match will go. Give rollers a few days (3 is a good number) to roll their match(es), and post them. If there is a delinquaint match or two, send the roller a pm or email to see what's keeping them anbd if they don't respond a day or two after that roll the match yourself.

Do not assign rollers a match with their own entrant in it.

That's really how organising a tournament works. You can have other varients, with special rules, like The Cage Match.

    For Rollers:

As a roller, your responsability is to roll the contest between ther two entrants in the match assigned to you by the Event Organiser. It is your reponsability to use the rules and tactics posted by the entrant, and to roll the match fairly, giving neither side a benefit. It is important to remain Impartial. While rolling the match it is considered proper to record the dice rolls so after the story write up of the match the rolls that gave the result are posted as well.

That's how the two most important parts of this subforum work.
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
