I also have to post here from time to time, so...
@Cole: Very interesting miniature, looks good. I like the face. Does he have scars in his face? because the paintjob looks like it.
@Tulkas: I'm not a big fan of the color scheme itself, but it's very well executed. Smooth, clean, everything you can ask for.
@Sgt.John Keel: Very good conversions. Where do you have the plasmaguns from?
@devolutionary: Great, keep up the fight. May the big squirrel bless your painting hand.
@Exocowboy: Grrrr, I was soo happy not to see any new stuff from you since it made me look more productive.Good work as always, I'm still into your color scheme. Can't say anything about the conversion as I'm terribly unfamiliar with the DE range. The eyes look a bit weird, but you can always pretend that he's on drugs.
I've toned down the reds on the Valhallans (if anyone remembers) and started painting their lasguns.
As I started a new army a week ago, there's new stuff on my to-do list:
20 Dark Elves warriors with spears, shields and command - primed, armour halfway done
12 DE warriors with repeater crossbows - not even assembled yet
3 Dark Riders - primed
1 Cold one Chariot - still needs assembling
2 Reaper bolt throwers - need to bring the blisters back to the retailer and claim new ones as parts are missing
+finding a proper color scheme! I like the plain standard scheme, did a test miniature and realized that the standard scheme is always a bit boring. Suggestions are welcome.![]()
Keep on painting guys!

playing with ermit crab genestealer concept here.
After a month away my current painting success is a big fat zero. On the plus side, being away has meant minis I've had soaking in simple green have had plenty of time to strip leaving me lots to do and I visited the deep south of America almost meeting hurricane Katrina in the process. On the down side, being away has meant minis I've had soaking in simple green have had plenty of time to strip leaving me lots to do and I visited the deep south of America almost meeting hurricane Katrina in the process (and got asked to do an Ozzie Osbourne impression). The list is therefore large, varied and a royal pain in the ass as I've got a fair bit of GSing and filing to do before I get anywhere.
So my list now looks something like this.
On the GS/filing line:
Marneus Calgar + retinune, 3 Nid Hunters, an old RT Chaplain, 1 RT Techmarine that needs a new monkey wrench/something.
Ready to be Undercoated:
Nid Hunter, RT Sw captain, 3 RT Librarians, 3 early 90's grey hunters, 2 RT Techmarines, 1 old Tigurius, 1 RT medic on a bike, 1 varag Ghoul Chewer (No, I don't know why I bought him either)
In various stages of Painting:
1 Converted Lysander, 1 SpSh captain, 1 MM wielding Space Shark.
Add to that a Librarian in termie armour, 3 RT GK's, an RT bike and side car, two RT landspeeders, several pieces of RT SM field Artillery, all waiting to be stripped.
I'm in trouble.....

That was an important speech sir and it needed to be made, but may I suggest that from this moment on, the rest of this discourse is conducted by those with brains larger than a grape...Originally Posted by Sgt John Keel

I thought it'd be obvious. There aren't that many different variants. Anyway, it's the metal Space Marine plasma gun, and the one from the Chaos command sprue. I have one plastic SM, and one more Chaos one which I will use for the next Veteran Squad, whenever I get around to do that. Got to love the Veterans doctrine. I will only use grenadiers and veterans in my force, with assorted chimeras and demolishers of course.Originally Posted by sigur

@ Cole: Very nice face on that guy, and the rettoen heads also looks cool although they look a bit "blotchy" as someone mentioned before.
@ ExoCowboy: Wow, the second jetbike looks just as good as the first. Nice job!

Still in the painting buff here... I got 3 Chaos bikes off E-bay for my conversions, and I had hoped that would help motivate me. But the condition they are in would send me flying into a buff if I weren't there already. I mean, you should see those things - just like somebody poured glue in a box, added pieces, and stirred. If I'm lucky I'll be able to scavenge useable bitz for two bikes (but not likely).
@Cole: those heads do look unfinished. Try painting the hair to break the monotony of colors on your champion.
@ExoCowboy: can't wait to see the whole squad together. Keep it up.
wanted to share the WIP pic of succubus-reaver.

She is dark elf Morathi mounted to reaver, I really like the way she fits there... and she is now totally unique in the squad.![]()

Exo cowboy, the paint seems to be a bit thick on this one, but other than that superb, not too sure about the bright green hair, but whatever floats your boat.

exocowboy, i love that last jetbike! i think that dark elf birds head works great, i quite like the green hair, though maybe it should be darker?
Ok, here is a pic at a Word Bearer in my new scheme that I just finished.
Here you will be able to see any updates in my Word Bearer army.
Hope you like him!
EDIT: Very cool conversion Exo! Looking forward to seeing it finished.

I am currently painting high elves & for the last three months i have been painting Black Templers, i am hoping that the new models will keep me on track to finishing an army.

But enough of that theory, welcome, and get painting, and best of luck with those elves, post pics if you can.

Wow, mirakel, that Word Bearer looks awesome. I've always loved colour schemes with the majority colour being red, with white or very light trim, and this is no exception. The painting and the good colour scheme gives a really cool model, and an army like that will look utterly awesome.
Hmm... strawberries and cream...

Nice work Exo. I'm personally not too keen on bright colours on Dark Eldar (I see it more of a Harlequins Only thing) but the paintwork is excellent, I dig those vibrant green hairdos.
I'm gradually getting back into painting, did a Minotaur and a Troll this week (both from Heresy). The troll needs some touching up on the shading, and both need basing, but I'm happy with em. Pics when I can steal a camera
I have two things I've been putting off for a while. The first is a bunch of Foundry Swat team minis. Not sure if I want to do these in the traditional style, or go for a similar look to my Sin City style minis. Then again, I have 20 of them, so I could do both.
The second is my Adeptus Custodes squad. The Squad leader is shown in my WIP Folder. I've had the squad laying around for an age now, never got round to painting them.
I'm sure the good folks of Warseer (and you lot!) will help me prioritise and decide on stuff![]()
Well, I've got my DW guy finished, and 2 more about 80% done - I just need to do the metallic bits, eyes and green bits, and clean up some other areas, and I have just over half a squad...
I just don't have the time at the moment, and I don't have the money to buy more of the army, which is probably a good thing, as I need to concentrate on painting the models I already have.
Those who know don't care any more, and those who care don't know.
Today is my birthday (yay!) and I managed to finish one of my schoolwork also... so I could paint without feeling guilty because I should do something else. So I managed to finish the succubus of reavers, she has no name yet (I put the model to this kind of a base to allow me to write her name to it), but she will get one some day. I have to say that at some point doing her (no, not DOING her that way) all seemed difficult, especially the skin, but the end result is good in my opinion.
So without further ado, here she is!

Really impressing. Why is her hair green?
