Just because it is not in the latest artwork does not mean we cannot use it, although personally I lean towards some devotional/purity seals myself - something fairly easy to standardize and convert/add to marine models.

OK, several of you have not selected a name for your marine, make sure you visit the Reserve your Marine name thread and do so before someone snags your name ( at all those who thought to take Philip). I intend to finish my Marine tonight and get a scan up for you guys (a little motivation).

Oh yes, and Mr Wintermute you are welcome to join the cool group if you so choose.

    Re: WarSeer Painting Support Group

Time to post! I have a box of cadians, DH Inq with book, death cultists, henchmen (the ones with the chainsaw maniac), Kasrkin Sgt, and two Catachans with Demo Packs, and a Daemonhost.

    The goal of that motley group? To create a Necromunda gang worthy of a fallen inquisitor wannabe. Here's how it breaks down;

    Daemonhunter Inquisitor
Gang Leader with Bolter and Sword. Will be trimming down Inq symbols, dirty up with stubble, lengthen hair, etc...

    Chainsaw hencman
Hack off the blade, attach bulk of a Marine flamer, instant heavy!

    Daemonhost
Pyromaniac Wyrd, painted up all flamey and such

    Death Cultist with single sword
    Ganger (those models are TINY)

    Cadians
Basic Gangers with modified heads, scraggly uniforms, etc... Kasrkin will be a gun slinger former Sergeant

    Catachan Demo Packs
Converted Hive Gangers AKA Juves, trimmed down weaponry to pistols.

I'm looking forward to the modifications I can do here. Should be an interesting little gang of renegades in the Underhive.

    OK,

As promised my Marine for the Battle Barge Project has been constructed from bits and pieces. The unpainted results:

Granted my to do list just increased by a model, but hey it is only one.

@devolutionary: Remember we crave pictures of your conversions and paint schemes.

    @Kommie: I don't see a marine on that list...want to join up?

    Very Nice!

May I suggest you get rid of all the mold lines and dril the barrel of the bolter out?

Yes, I realise you want pictures. I need to steal Aurelien's camera to provide them though

I like that marine, though he does look a little like he's trying not to pee in his power armour. Probably the angle of the legs in the shot though

    Re: WarSeer Painting Support Group

At this point I think it would be in order to discuss the squad's theme. Cpt. Brown already built a more standing-at-ease Marine, so making another one furiously bashing the brains out of a Kroot mercenary would look a bit off.

Any chance I could join the group? I have a few things that have been sitting on my desk and I need encouragement for:

    1) IG Robots (Ogryns)
    2) Panther Guard (IF Successor Chapter) Tactical Squad, Combat Squad and Commander
    3) Redraw IG army list and buy/paint any necessary units (likely armoured fist squad and Techpriest)
    4) Repaint IG

    Re: WarSeer Painting Support Group

@Robot 2000: welcome to the group! it is always a pleasure to hear the progress of other painters, and this group is just the right place to get some inspiration to do stuff. It has worked wonders for me, and I hope you can get more motivation to finish those models! Do you have some models to show us maybe? I am keen to see some of those Panther Guard -guys

@notdakuningist: cool, those are some pimped up guys you got there! I am eager to see some more painting on them

to everyone: I am bit tired, not anymore so running on overheat as couple of hours ago. The executioner looks kinda freaky, I hope I get him done within a couple of days. The writing of my graduating work haunts my days, I should finish that within 3 weeks... hopefully the hard work pays off with some good grades for it, and also some international fame . After that I hope to get a bit more active on the painting side. My DEldar have been on stall for some time now, I havent finished the Cadians... and now I am thinking of painting over the names on the bases of my characters, they have started to bug me. So much to do! But the warseer chapter is kinda interesting and I hope it also revives some of the enthuasm I had like a month ago.

.. time to go to sleep..

@PSD: That is one nasty looking feller. Wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley. Of course, he'd blow the alley up before I had the chance to meet him in it, but you get the idea.
Did you reposition the arms a bit?

I got myself a little start on my Deathwing army by painting a test mini! He's got a thread of his own, but as I'm a total attention whore when it comes to my minis I'll post him here as well...

I know the transition on his left shoulder pad isn't that smooth, but that's because he was a bit rushed. I'll take more care with my actual DW.

    This is his best side...

    Pics as requested

First up is the first (And only) Panther Guard Squad I've painted. Basically just footling around with the scheme. Not highlighted at all, these are gaming models . I'm going to paint over the SW transfers with Gothic "P" symbols like the one on the sergeant's banner.

Second up, the captain. The FIRST MODEL EVER that I've tried highlighting on, so be nice :P. Tried to avoid 4th ed "bling overload". Yes I am going to repaint the P on the banner!

    C&C would be great!
