Don't forget you still owe us some Night goblin goodness.![]()
The Goblins are part of the Skull Pass set. 72 Goblins (62 Night goblins, 10 spider riders), 1 troll, 12 dwarf warriors, 10 dwarf thunderes, 8 dwarf miners, 2 dwarf heroes, numerous objective markers.
It's all there!
Today I'm going to make up some movement trays for them as well.
The end is in sight!!!!

I know, I went ahead and pre-ordered Battle for Skull Pass, too. Can you hear my wallet crying from there? Cause I certainly can. Not to mention it would take me about 10000 times as much time as you to paint everything (I'll probably sell some contents, though).
The worst thing is that once I've finished painting this one up, I've got to do another one directly afterwards.

Oh, the horrors of running a gaming store, eh?![]()
Yeah. That would make the third core set in as many months...

thats a really good set, though, 72 goblins and a pile of dwarfs.
the draws of fantasy!
Here is a WIP shot of my converted Vostroyan Standard Bearer. I liked the previous one I did but I also like the idea of being just that little bit different! Surprisingly, I'm finding the Vostroyans to be very easy to convert...

For those of you that want to see more, here are a few close ups.

You achieved an interesting, somewhat cartoony effect. It has probably got something to do with the fact you were in a hurry. I think maybe you should do some more work on Miners' and Warriors' weapons. They look too clean. A wash of dark ink would do the trick and if you picked some details out with a different color would look great, too.
Very nice Pertinax, love those gobbos. THe bases set them off really well. Not too sure about the yellow on the stunties but it does look fun.
pertinax, they look brilliant, the green on the goblins is extremely well done i must say. overall, they are amazing, especially for the time you took over them.i had thought the dwards weapons were a little bit clean but have changed my mind, they look right in comparison to the dirty gobbo weaponry.thanks for the pics!
Snakebite, very nice! any chance of seeing the converted medic painted?
the standard bearer looks brilliant, but i don't understand why you have made another, you had the cool 'topless' guy!?
Reminds me of the (I think) 5th ed' dwarves, waring thier yellow macs and raincoats!![]()
Now working on: Beastmen.
Thanks for the feedback.
Yeah, they did come out a bit cartoony. There are no highlights that are more than the base black, a mid tone and a bright tone. But it's consistant though the whole set.
They've had movement trays built now, out of thick plastic card. And they've been sent off to where they were going.
And as to why the Dwarfs are blue and yellow? The set is being sent to a shop in Sweden.![]()

Guys, I need your ideas. I nearly painted the Vindicare assassin I've been working on. Now I'm stuck as to how to base him. The model's pose is very specific (the one on the left). He isn't pointing his guns at anything, he isn't hiding behind a terrain feature, just standing there. I was thinking to put a fence before him (approx. the hight of his crotch) or a casualty. Any other suggestions? I just don't want the base to be plain.
Well, how he's painted? Do you want to cover your model with something that will not let other people see the detail that you've put on that mini?

(Stranger, tell the Lakedemonians, that we lie here buried, obeying their rules)
No, I don't want to cover the mini or shift attention from it. The fence I imagined would be made from a couple of girders and not blocking the view.
