Well thanks for all the feedback,
It might be worth me painting all my rods, but I have to then go over 60 necron warriors, although I am on school holidays. Many people mentioned the pose’s I chose, 1 was inspired from pert (the hand over the gun) the one pointing (Which his hand has actually melted it was a great idea at the time…) from a marineand the last one from an anime (sp?) I saw in a shop window.
I was suppose to ask this question in my last post, I have 3 tomb spyders which need to be assembled, they are all metal, So I need to pin them the only problem is that my friend broke my drill bit and the place I buy them from (which is very far) is under construction.
Last year when I went to games day, I asked a guy how he glued his titan he said he used glue and bi crab soda or something of the kind has any body tried this or have any other methods?
Exo: Nice….Whatever that is![]()

If I can't/won't pin a figure, then I put a small piece of tissue paper in the join. I glue one side of the join, and put the paper on it. Then, I glue the other side, and then put the two pieces together.
Once it is dried, I just trim off the excess paper.
The result is that you get a join that is snug. What Spuer Glue needs to really make a good join is to have alarge contact surface.
I suspect that the bi-carbonate expands in the join, and provides a partical lattice for the glue to bond with. Pretty much the same as small fibres.

Yay, an update!
Blue parts of the Ultramarine sargeant's armour are done, as is his skin. Now to decide on his company markings...
Here's Naame (=Reaper monk), with almost finished skin and some paint on the other surfaces:

On the second pic I wanted to show that the sculpt is a bit funny, with mispositioned eyes. Ah, well, he'll do for D&D...
Here's the current to-do list again, this time colour coded for your convenience:
- Fabius Bile (almost finished)
- Emperors' Children sorcerer
- Battle Barge marine (still in the converting phase)
- Archaon on foot
- High Elf mage on foot
- Vindicare assassin
- Ultramarines sargeant
- Reaper miniatures' male Kazumi monk
- Tyranid Lictor
Legend: unassembled, basecoated, partly painted, painted, needs basing, finished
I also did some work on my ruined building. Pics and a request here.
Yerpo, I would LOVE to see that armour blended up for highlights, can you... dare to blend the highlights on the armour?Originally Posted by yerpo

It will look amazing, yet alone if you try to blend everything.
Everything.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand exactly what did you mean by that. If you are referring to the technique called blending to create smooth transitions from one colour to another, then I have to say that I'm not that good/patient painter yet to be able to pull that off properly. At least not with such a difference in tones as there is on those highlights. Getting there, slowly, yes, but not quite yet. This paint job in particular taught me that a wet pallete is an indispensible tool for any serious painting and I'll never again attempt to mix paints without one.
The Whirlwind. The yellow on it is rather blotchy when the picture is flashed. In reality, it's much smoother and not so stained.

Yeah, sorry, I meant that.
But try it on another fig, it's good practise and when you are able to pull the effect off nicely then you get a tempation to blend everything on a model.

@Pertinax: oo, spliffy. I like the black band, it compliments the otherwise dull IF scheme so much. And as you already observed, flash and photographing minis don't go together well. Use a desk lamp and a tripod instead.
@pd: yeah, and my painting speed will grind to almost zeroBut seriously, that's why I paint these display pieces to begin with. I'll get to proper blending yet. Eventually.
I just finished another terminator. 4 down, 1 to go!
I've had a big step today. I've finished painting an army that I've been working on too and fro since about 2002. I've painted lots more than is in the army though. But right now, I've finished up all the units and banners, I've done the last marines, and I've tched up the vehicles to the same standard. I've gotten the army to a list that I'm happy with for playing. And it's all painted.
Ladies and Gents, I present my 1500 point finished, played, and tested Imperial Fist army.
Go me! PROJECT DONE!
The last things to be done were some of the banners, some marines, and some touch ups on the landspeeders (black bands)

I did a very quick proxy of the harpoon gun idea I had for my thunderers/quarrelers for my seafaring dwarf army. What do you think?

@Pert, looks very nice, maybe a bit to *shiney*Shame i beat them

@Khrangar, looks like a good idea, can't wait to see it painted.

Well, after taking a looo-ooong break from Warhammer and 40k (what the hell was I thinking??), I've taken up the brush once more. This is my first Chaos marine for a unit. It's my first model for a long time.
Any C or C?

Arcane_Blade,
A nice basic scheme, good to see you getting back into the painting side of the hobby. I have always found that those who paint up their armies seem to stay more interested in the game over the long haul. On an unrelated note can you shorten your signature to seven lines (including spaces) as per the WarSeer Rules, thank you - otherwise your signature is longer than your posts. <--Edit: Thank you very much there Arcane_Blade. WarSeer Inquisition-->
@Pertinax - Congratulations on finishing the Fists. I like how they have some weathering, too often Marines are made to be pristine with armour that looks like it came right off the parade ground.
@Everybody - I realize I have not been keeping up with the board as other events have focused my attention away from painting (and posting).
I have added some more Space Orks (from some WarSeer Trades - thanks Lyonator) to my list and a few more Empire figures have turned up in my bits box. This coupled with the Elysians and Cadians I acquired from Sorcerer Studios close out sale have resulted in my army of silver, black and white growing considerably. Sadly, when one can purchase a reduced prices or trade unused figures for new ones, you find your unpainted pile getting higher.

I don't get it. I really don't get it.
The other day, I finalize and finish 1500 points of Fists. I'm as happy as a really big smiley happy thing.
Today, I decided to re-do a few units, and add a few more things...
I can't help it! I'm a collectaholic miniature gamer! HELP ME!!
In other news: I finished Nazgul 7 of 9 today (both horse and foot), and started 8 and 9 of 9.

Calm down, its a perfectly normal thing to do. You are merely afflicted with a life afflicting ailment, incurable but not entirely unpleaseant. Embrace it and all will be fine. And by the way, curses for the work on your forgeworld dreadnought, i am now fighting a great urge to by one of my own. Must.....hold.......back.............
Go on Mortare! Buy it. You know you want to. The voices inside your head are always right.......![]()

p.s. Btw Pertinax, it's better to embrace it, and your army looks awesome. Very good job.
