    Melchor,

Welcome back, and for the second time I will compliment your scouts again (er I mean I will give them a compliment again, that being the second time the compliment was given). These pictures are brighter than the last ones you posted (Also is the missile launcher new?)

Of course I am biased as I love the scout models and scouts in general. Having a army of the buggers. Now if I could only remember the path to my pictures I could post them...

    Cheers,

By the way, I checked that card model site out too, but whenever I download one of thier .rar files, it's passworded, so I can't unzip it & check out the plans.
Any chance you could tell me how on earth you're meant to open those files?
Somehow i found the files on another site, already unpassworded or whatever the term is lol but alas i dont remember that site, but if you drop me a PM with your E mail, i can send the APC plans over to you? I think they are overly complex myself. but you might be able to simplify them.

Ps i just read your Dystartes thread, and see i am mentioned as "some guy on portent" haha.

Can you link me to the site where you got your technical plans from that you mention?

@Captain Brown: And thanks again for the comment.
And yes the picture is different, as the new one is taken outside as opposed to inside, which looks better... At least I think it does.
And yes again, the missile launcher is a recent addition. As is the sarge, which is why I took new pictures.

And don't worry! I remember your scouts

I never joined the old support group, somehow the idea of joining a thread that had thousands of posts seemmed rather stupid.
but this time I will, for the simple reason that I NEED HELP!

As some of you may know, im currently working on an IG mechanised grenadiers army, with loads of extensivly converted tanks.
    so far I have-

    finnished-
    command squad
    1 chimera
2 squads of citidel legionaires (grenadiers)
    1 chimera
1 asault chimera with t/l autocannon turrets

almost finnished (a few touch ups left to do)-
    sentinal
    second assault chimera

    half completed-
    leman russ command tank
    demolisher
    medusa
9 tetra guard (veterans) currently no paint, 70% assembled.

    still to add-
    second demolisher
    hellhound
3rd squad of citidel legionaires plus their chimera
    2 more sentinals

I am aiming to get this all finnished in time for the dysartes 40K tornament on the 28th of may. I'm hoping now portent is up and I have chance to post pictures, I will be spured on to finnish things.
I will post pictures of various units as I progress.

good luck to all others stuck in the same cycle of addiction as me.

No worries, with the .rar format, when you zip it up you can choose to give the file a password, so that the guy who tries to open it must know the right password.
The file you've got must be an earlier version or something, I tried a few days ago & it required a password. (which I couldn't guess )

About the "Some guy"; yeah, you know you gotta give credit where it's due, it was seeing your Rhino that made me think it could be possible at all. I remember wishing at the time I worte it that I could recall what the guy's name was.
Glad I do now, cos' I can say it was your model that got me going.

I'll go through my history & try & edit this post with a link to the site, basically it was an outline in green over black, in blueprint style, which I edited in photoshop to be black lines over white.
Or I could email you the pic I used after I'd edited it if you want, it's got the top & front views on too.

Drop us a PM & I can sort it out for ya, s'the least I can do.

I have a sneaky plan for my lizards right now, so I'm not going to post what models I have to paint, since that would give it away to my opponents, but it's going to be impressive.

If it's any consolation, I'm working on a unit of saurus warriors right now. Here's the first four so far, and I'll throw in a terradon too.

In the last german WD they announced basing snow from GW (in new 'tupperware' boxes, as all kinds of flock will come) - don't know when that'll be released, but I'm waiting for it.

Hi, I'm Nick, and yeah... I have to come forward and admit that I haven't touched a brush in a couple of months. My two tables with my WIP stuff (mostly my DA scouts, a few orks and some BTs, yes I am addicted to new armies) got shifted from my spot by the computer into a corner of my bedroom and haven't been looked at since... need to get back to work on them!

Those marines I said I'd have done in two weeks...

Well, they were done shortly before portent went down. Another 11 scouts are nearing completion too.

Well done Samoth, that’s what the group is here for. Celebrate our success in painting up figures or completing projects rather than succumbing to the lure of the xbox, television, procrastination disease, etc.

I myself managed to do up an Inquisitor last night, surprised myself, and only took 2.5 hours from start to finish. I will post pictures once I have found the least bandwidth hogging method. Lots of people are espousing the benefits of photbucket; maybe I will check it out, although I already have server space.

    Cheers,

    Captain Brown

I have 2 Tyranid Warriors painted except for the bases, and the teeth on one of them.

I have 1 Warrior with the base colours, but no highlighting or anything yet.

I have 3 more Warriors unbased, assembled, but still grey plastic.

    Undercoated Zoanthrope.

    Bare metal Biovore.

I have about 16 Hormagaunts, and 12 Genestealers undercoated, but only one of the Horms is painted.

My motivation to get stuck in and do them? The new Nids coming out. I will not be obtaining any new Nids until this lot is painted. And I really want a new Tyrant, some Tyrant Guard, a Carni, and a Lictor...

I also have an Iron Warriors Kill Team mostly done. I just have to get a couple more guys painted up, and do the chevrons on a couple of chainswords of some mostly completed guys. Motivation? Playing Kill Team against a friend's growing Ork army

Bright, flat colours can effectively be painted by candlelight, if that helps.

Here's the proof, new marines, plus a healf-hearted attempt at hand flamers. Still iffy on those. The painting is table top "quality", and damn if I'm not happy with that. I blame it mostly on painting with ****** brushes - that and I'm no good at flat highlights. Painting other things, like scouts and cadians, is a complete joy compared to these. I cant even give them much bling, that'd be unfluffy.

The pics are very "flashy" - how do I reduce that anyone?

Sorry for the craptacular photos, I just got sick of trying to organize it all with this damn slow connection.

Hi, I'm Sigur and I finally sign up for this because I have lots of stuff to paint, feel like a lazy painter and my painting technique needs improvement in speed and quality. And I need some lessons in consequence.

    Things I have to finish:

    Cadians
finishing touches on all of the Cadians
    6 Cadian heavy weapon teams
    1 Leman Russ
    1 Leman Russ Exterminator
    1 Leman Russ Vanquisher
Tau army I don't wanna think of
And theoretically, I have to re-do my first IG army....

Things I still have unpainted or just basecoated:

    2 SoB squads
    1 SoB Retributor squad
    Inquisitor retinue
    2 SoB Rhinos
    1 Exorcist

    ~2000pts of Eldar
    ~1500pts of CSM

The last 2 armies are my brother's. He's playing Dawn od War while his armies are catching dust on the shelf. To me, that's like watching internet porn while having a girlfriend in the room next to you.

So the first step is to finish those 15 Cadians here and the 6 heavy weapon teams till Saturday (April, 2nd). I'm really not sure if I'll achieve this goal in time but I gotta start at some point.

Finished a Scribe and halfway through the Hieromartyr (Spelling?-do not want to go look as the moment I switch to another browser I get logged out) and two more Sister's with Multi-Meltas.

@Samoth, Nice Marines. To answer your question try for more ambient light and turn off the automatic flash. Maybe a lighter background would help as well.

@Sigur, that is a awfully short list of things to paint. Are you holding back on us?

    Cheers,

    Captain Brown

*sigh* Hello, my name is Joakim, and I'm a 40k addict.

I have started at least five armies, including Orkses, Dark Eldar, Chaos Space Marines and Tau. Sadly, I haven't had enough patience to finish, or even begin the armies. I have started, foolishly enough, with buying the biggest, baddest plastic kit I could find. For Chaos, it's a Land Raider and for Tau it's a team of Crisis Suits, of which only one is painted, and to a crappy standard too.

Now, to the good sides of modelling/painting. I started Space Marines at the time the new Codexcame out, and have since then gathered about 1000 pts of Crimson Fists, based on a couple of Tactical Squads and a Venerable Dreadnought. When I saw the Relictors article in WD #295 (I think), I decided I had to make Space Marines that looked like them. And yesterday I bought a Blood Claws box and the basic CSM box set, and have begun plotting to make 10 Space Marines Veterans, armed with CCWs and BPs. They will have the usual close-combat armament of an extra power weapon and a power fist. All led by a Veteran Sergeant with a power fist.

Sadly enough, I know that once 'painting frenzy' has died down, they won't get painted for some time. I know, I have 8 Black Knights and 20 Grave Guards standing unpainted on my desk at this very moment, staring hollow-eyed at me (yes, bad pun).

But on the whole, I am very lazy, have too many unpainted models, and to end melodramatic, my best paintbrush has been clogged with superglue due to sloppyness.
