I'm curious and would like to see more. To be honest I'm a little dubious about everyone sending a marine in, it sounds a bit like a pyramid scheme to me

Mikari (Oh you'd be the coolest member of these forums if your name were spelt 'Makari', I would raise you as 'The Man'!) the project is to create a Warseer-produced army. As in produced by everyone, going by the "There's too many bloody space marines, they'll be happy to unload their spares" theory


Purely as a fun exercise, the plan, to my knowledge, is to get everyone willing to help, to get together and enjoy created the Official Warseer Chapter of Space Marines, both in background and in physical terms (although probably not a full chapter, but if it's popular enough, well...)

Everyone gets to have their say in deciding on the colour scheme, chapter markings etc., it gets put to a vote and so on.
Then everyone involved paints up a marine and sends it in to whichever poor sap is in charge of the logistics.

As is my understanding at least.
I reckon it'll be fun, but I'll have to fish around for a spare beekee to paint up (hard pill for an Ork to swallow)

Where would the models get posted to though? I'd be happy to do a veteran (I only have chaos models and a couple of spare loyalist heads) if there was some where in say the UK I could send it to (which is as far as I know what is going on).

Colour wise I think we need to make a topic.. so maybe I'll toodle off and do it in a second. I hope it's something unique (with no metalics, black or red would be nice). Maybe go a little nuts and do blood angel style ranks.. I'd be fun to do if all works out, but I have the feeling if we can't set up a way for people to send models to their own country then ship them off on mass we may end up with people going "nah, costs too much to send models to..".

Maybe afterwards we could stick it on Ebay as well, pick a charity (or give it to the site to help costs) and donate the money to it. Maybe split it 50/50 between charity and site or whatever. It'd encourage more people to take part as well.

I'll send in one marine, you send me one, then warseer one, then I get the head off every marine you get sent and you get the torso then warseer gets the rest and so on and so forth.. we'll make a mint, we'll be swimming in poorly painted plastic for years to come Just don't tell anyone else they'll all be our minions so totally screwed

So, I understand the basics here, but how are we deciding the paint schemes and such?

I think it would be far more entertaining if we actually developed fludd behind this chapter, a community based chapter with companies, heroes, etc... Not just a paintscheme and symbol.

I'm assuming that the organisation will be worked out before people get to work on the models? Otherwise there could be potential problems when everyone sends in a Veteran Sergeant or something..

IVe never played marines in my entire life, but i did manage to aqquire an old, poorly painted metal apothacary at some point, i will happily paint and donate him.

Also, i can offer a degree of expertese in any extensive tank converting the forum may want done.

Seen as how most of Warseer could paint to a higher standard than me if they used their toes, I'll pass on submitting a model (never bought any marines anyway). I'll gladly chip in to the rest of the project though.

First read the front page of the site, then read the sticky at the top of the BattleBarge, if that hasn't told you all you need to know then read the posts by Lord Lucifer in this thread, if by then you still don't have a clue you can go back to your Pokemon .

this is the basic order of things as I've set out the schedule
1:Colours
2:Badge
3:Traits
4:Army selection
2 will not be decided until 1 has been resolved and so on down the line. We can't really know what we need people to paint until we know what type of army we have and what kind of interest there is.

One thing is for certain, we need a hell of a lot more marines with bolters than we do librarians so unless you're a Guilder (or better) you should expect to be painting a standard marine.

Oh the postage thing is being dealt with as an offshoot of another thing Nick is doing, we shall keep you up to date on that as we know more. in the interests of keeping the postage down I would suggest that people stick to plastic minis.

Although my painting is a lot less then Golden Demon standard, I'll do my best and chip in with a little fella. If postage cost is a problem for some people I don't mind collecting a bunch from North America and shipping then on mass over the pond, provided it isn't in excess of $100

Hmm we were trying to think how members who weren't on the British Mainland would get their stuff to us, perhaps if we set up several postal node points then stuff could be collected there and then sent on . . . any ideas?

Not a bad idea. Like having a Node in the US in which all the stuff gets sent too, then sent over to the UK?
