These fisty guys look great. I like the rhino with the extras lashed on and the weathering.

Nice pod. Like the hazard stripes!
@mrtn: Thanks!
@Samurai33: Cheers. Yeah, adding those stripes was a good idea. Fair bit of extra work but it pays off. I thought I'd do this Drop pod without any hazard stripes at all for once but I'll drop this silly notion for future pods.![]()
Hey people, I just wanted to let you know that my hands-on review of the new GW paints is up now on the Tale of Painters blog (with a little delay).
Click here for a lengthy look into one or two paints of each of the paint categories GW introduced.
Hope you like the article and that you get some info out of it. Let me know if you have any comments, questions or criticism!
Good review Sigur.
I am actually a little excited about the new paints. As far as the differences between the new washes and the old ones are concerned, it seems to me that GW has basically split the job that the old washes were intended to do into two different products: the glazes glaze and the washes wash. Although it means you have to buy two different products you have more flexibility and to get a similar result you were probably using 2 or 3 coats of the old washes anyway.

and i will likely have such an army too sigur...im currently being a bit patient and waiting for a new templar book before i expand it with other stuff...im likely going to stuff more time in some new grey knights...
@Codsticker: Thanks.Really, the most positive things I found about the new paints is the new paint pots. The paints are a good product though. As I wrote in my review, I was surprised to find out that the glazes actually behave like...well, glazes. I don't feel like I got a need for them because I usually just use the paint I used to paint the surface with for glazing (mixed with other stuff) but it's better than I thought. About the washes - I was told that the Warpaints washes dark tone was exactly the same as Devlan Mud. It's funny. They did the same thing with the hand drill. GW introduced the sucky new one and - bam - army painter got the old, good one in their range. It's surprising how many companies there are that just live off people who are dissatisfied with what GW does.
(And I'm not talking about people looking for alternatives or a different experience).
@Breazer: Cheers, mate! Yeah, maybe people don't comment as much these days and to be honest, I'm the worst one of them because I write maybe two replies a week in other people's plogs. Warseer's getting bigger every day since 2005, there are tons of project logs around... I'm sure we'll get more replies again soon.I also haven't been poasting all that much outside of my plogs lately so people wouldn't see my hideously bloated signature and would click it. Also, of course, I tend to get more views and replies in my Fantasy painting log simply because there never was that splitting up in Fantasy they did with the Sci-Fi painting logs (that was one of the problems I had with the idea of splitting the logs section)
Anyhow, hey, I finished painting a figure!
Drop Pod! Not much to say really. Oh, apart from the fact that, despite painting several Drop Pods so far, this is the first one I built myself I'm somewhat proud that it turned out in a way so that all sides of the pod close firmly, none stands out too much, there are no big gaps and so on. This is a rather tricky kit in this regard. Woo!
really nice crimson.
ps: i send you a private message![]()
Outstanding weathering and painting. That is one realistic looking pod.
Fantastic drop pod (and the rest of the stuff). I have my first one sitting in the box on my desk, I hope I can do it as much justice as you. Now I'm off to read your paint review.
@anselminus: Cheers, will reply in a sec!
@Samurai33: Glad you like it.
@ChrisMurray: Thanks. Let me know what you think of the paint review as well!

@Codsticker: I'm sure it does to designers of ANYTHING.
@Breazer: Thanks. I keep on checking your plogs every once in a while but there is a severe lack of updates lately.Love the beastmen one though.
Alright, let's hop right into the action:
Nothing really special for now apart from the fact that it's a freaking Chaos Titan!!!111234 But paintingwise nothing special yet. Lets hope it gets more exciting.![]()

Crazy cool!!!!
Hellooooo......I WILL be awaiting WIP photos of this little machine. No tree will be safe when THAT starts a dancing around on a tabletop.![]()
I am therefore I think OR I think therefore I am?
I really like the boney white scheme. Tell me that's the main colour, and not just a basecoat?
Those who know don't care any more, and those who care don't know.
I love Chaos Titans (and chaos in general), will this be a stand a lone piece or is there more chaos to go with it?
The paint review was interesting and the one that has shown me best the difference between the new paints and the old ones and how the new ones work. I think the most telling part of the new GW paints will be when people start using them in their logs, it will be interesting to see when you start using them here as you have a distinctive style as to whether it becomes obvious that you've changed over. Overall 4.5 stars out of 5 for your paint review (because no ones perfect otherwise it would have been a 5).
Wow! Sigur doing a Warhound! :O Can't wait to see it done.
What Chaos faction is it going to be?
