Indeed, they look very nice Sigur. I was just thinking I might try a few of the new GW colors, but have such trouble opening the pots. My secret shame...

I miss Chris Farley.
And I thought you were shameless, violenceha!
Sigur, those Space Wolves are looking appallingly good. Generally I'm not really a fan of Space Viking-pups, but those are some mighty fine looking models! If you don't mind my asking, how did you do the red for the robes? I might have to pinch it (assuming I can pull it off as well as you do...).

Hello!
The robes are absolutley gorgeous, the red was a superb solution!
I'm really looking forward to the Storm Eagle, so the event will become quite awesome with it and all the other SW stuff.
@violenceha: That's a hurdle of course. The material softens a bit with use though so it gets easier opening the things with time. What I find more problemtatic is that you really have to take care to close them correctly. If I was you I'd get a pot at least though just to try out the new stuff. It's interesting. I haven't gotten too many yet (none beyond a set of various paints for testing and reviewing) because I got lotsa paints at the moment and prefer flat top pots but they're good.
@salteh: I really enjoy painting red robes/clothes/etc. and keep on changing recipes but usually I start with a darker, muted red, maybe red-brown, maybe red-black, then I start adding blood red (or equivalent) and "layer up" to pure blood red, maybe reinforce shades between folds lateron. I generally use lots of mixes of paints and rarely use paints straight from the bottle except for basecoating or something like that. For a more in-depth guide, you can have a look here (steps 10 to 13). Hope that you find that useful.
@Old School: Not quite Santa, but it does take some effort cleaning the tons of hatemail out every day.Seriously though, there's plenty of space in my PM inbox now. I'll send you one, maybe it works in a reply. Edit: I tried sending you a PM now and it's the darndest thing - it said that your inbox was full.
You can send me an e-mail to lexobald@gmx.net
@Sinestro: Thanks, glad that you like them. The Storm Eagle is the thing I'll tackle next.
Think it's at MY end!![]()

Excellent Long Fangs man!
Nothing more to say really that I haven't said before. Just checking in to browse through the latest pictures.
I love the streaky dirt/damage style on the Salamanders Storm Talon.

very nice work on the spacewolves..they are turning out great.
and now that you are no longer ill i think i am
@Old School: Main thing is that it worked now.
@Solun Decius: Thanks, man!
@Breazer: Oh, sorry. :S I Must have sneezed on the breazer voodoo doll I keep (as I do with most Warseer users).
Surprisingly little in the way of updates recently. Must be because I'm a lazy bastard with the worst time management in history. Anyhow, without much further bitching, here's Njal Stormcaller:
Aside from that guy I've been painting that Storm Eagle today:
ONCE AGAIN I have to apoloogize for the picture quality.
Ha-haa, update!
The next are some pictures of the back (and earlier stages of painting). Here's a tip top secret I would like to share with you, fellow Warseerites: If you turn a Storm Eagle around it looks like a cat doing push-ups:
![]()
Oh man, now I want to see my cat do some pushups :P.
Great painting as always Sigur, but is it just me or is the photo of Njal a bit overexposed or over edited? It just seems as if the highlights are unusually stark.

A single candle that shows the way... RIP Brimstone.
I'm painting some Eldar again!
Models bought in 2013: 57; painted in 2013: 47
I've never been too big a fan of the SW...but your minis have changed that.
The paint job you have given them is spot on!
The cat push up model is excellent as ever... but I have to echo the earlier comment about the Nigel photo. Really doesn't show your excellent work off any where as good as normal. The highlights appear stark, and the hand looks a little messy by your high standards![]()
I dont get how you can make it look so smooth and nice always..but the flying machine looks awesome...very nice job
Sigur, you inbox seems to be full!
Great stuff sigur, as always ! Did you airbrush this flyer ?

Well....I normally manage to paint my left hand's thump and a finger or two. I did my nose once or twice over the years. (Since I take my glasses off when I paint details....I haven't painted my glasses...YET
I am therefore I think OR I think therefore I am?
@Radium: Thanks for the comment. The picture may be a bit overexposed. I got a level in Photographer now but my main class still is "ignorant" I'm afraid so I'm constantly working on my (very, very basic) photography skills. I hope that you like the new ones better. THanks for the input though, always appreciated.
@Hushrong: Thanks, I'm glad you like them. It's always nice
to bend people's will at my whimgetting people to like minis they previously didn't like with my paintjobs. I myself start liking mostly every mini once I start painting it even though I really didn't like it previously.
@Crube: Cheers, I reworked Njal. He looks more proper now.
@Breazer: Thanks!
@Sinestro: Sorry. :S I'll have a tighter grip on that now.
@kublai: Yup an airbrush was involved. :-)
@Bob Hunk: Cheers. Yes, that's a bit of a bad habit of mine eversince I saw it some old guy do it at a modelling fair years and years ago. It's just convenient too. At times I get a bit concerned about poisoning my body with tiny little doses over decades but so far my thumb hasn't fallen off. Also, I was once told that I had immensely wide thumbs so they'd be perfect to be used as a palette.
@Crazy Harborc: Oh, I painted my glasses before. No biggie with acrylics. Many years ago I scratched my glasses with a modelling knife. That was much more of a bummer.
Hello again, guys! I know it's been kind of slow in here lately but I want to remedy this now and in the near future. I worked on some of my own stuff but noticed that after a few days I start feeling really bad if I'm not "productive" in a sense and just start bumming around. So back to business.
Last night I processed over a hundred pictures of finished Space Wolves and Salamanders and this very nice 40k event I've been to on Wednesday and my computer really crapped itself whilst doing so because I seem to lack properly powerful RAM. Maybe I'll get some new ones as RAM still are very, very cheap. So let's start with that Salamanders Razorback and the dozer blades:
Hope that you like it and that the one with the dozer blades doesn't break the forum formatting.
edit: Works out just right for me but let me know if it messes up your forum interface and I'll crop it or resize or something.
Hullo, in this update we got some more finished Space Wolves along with some unfinished ones.
First, a bunch of Wolf Guard guys. Here's the whole group:
...here we got the first three from two angles:
...and the rest from two angles:
Then we got a pack of Long Fangs:
As well as of course Njal Stormbringer and two Wolf Guard fellas in terminator armour:
These three guys are some of my favorites:
In the above picture you can see that second edition 40k never ended. :-D
Stay tuned!
