This thread gets back on topic NOW

    Sylass has already asked politely.

    I'm now telling you!

I do not expect to have to address this problem again.

Re: An appeal to the Warseer Communites

Would you be Allowing a person to send in more than one Miniture?
    Or perhaps a whole squad?

just because the only space marine I own is the one from the skulls promotion way back and I'd be buying more than one marine to send in?

Re: An appeal to the Warseer Communites

What if you volunteer to paint a few for otehrs who can't Adlan?
If there ARE communitiy squads, you could prolly help the guys in your "community" paint them up, huh?

And WM, can "just friends ask to be in the same squad? I could imagine the Bergen Maifa building a squad together...

Sounds good, I was just wondering. Ah well, we can sort it out later on when we know what the army list will be.
Speaking of that, and I'm soory I'm going off topic (especially after that large scary warning at the top of the page, but I think this is important) Any idea where the army list is? or how soon we will see a draft?

The Army List cannot be finalised until we have decided which Traits the Chapter will take.

Re: An appeal to the Warseer Communites

Well, I want to make a suggestion...afraid I cannot comment on groups...although I am a member of several. Rather than join a particular squad or lump people in groups into squads right away, perhaps we could look at the story of the space marines and come up with a more acceptable option to all.

My suggestion: A Space Marine's armour is like a living historical document, covered with litanies of faith, devotional icons or emblems of their particular chapter, purity seals, awards and decorations of bravery, etc. Was not the intent of the latest edition of the Space Marine Codex that the Space Marine Warrior is a hero?

Could it not be that people can add small tokens (a purity seal for devotion to duty - WarSeer Painting Support Group), a nameplate on the shoulder pad (for valour from Arena of Death), devotional litanies written on leg armour (Member of the WarSeer Book Club), a quill symbol under the Chapter Symbol (waistoid contributor), there could even be (for those who feel that they wish to atone for previous transgressions) a sash of shame (like the Reiksgard Knight in WFB Armies Empire Book picture) a cloth draped over the Chapter Symbol to represent that the individual seeks redemption, etc.

I see lots of people wanting special weapon combinations, to be veteran sergeants, and other special characters. Perhaps if we point out and encourage the individualizing of each Marine (maintaining the Chapter colour scheme, armour integrity, etc).

A word to the wise, those that put too much on their Marine will look silly when standing by their battle brothers...so choose wisely. In fact those that do not spam, lurk and enjoy the community will have the cleanest (and possibly most noticeable) Marines.

    My two cents,

    Captain Brown

I like this idea. Perhaps we could instea dof cummounity squads which has already caused some issues, come up with community acceoted symbols (painting and terrain has two crossed brushes or something, wastoids get's a stylized whack hammer, the Undutcheables gets...um I dunno what...

    But it could work!

Captain Brown makes some very good points, especially about the one being a member of the WBC, because I'm not really in any group and I think there are only two dutch persons in the Battlebarge to date...

I suggested a similar (though far less neat and rationalised... well done Captain Brown!) thing in one of the other threads (colour scheme? perhaps). I think that would be a nice subtle way to do it. It's like having a deathwatch shoulderpad, or terminator honours.

Re: An appeal to the Warseer Communites

I don't see why we should be making problems for ourselves in the act of organising squads for ourselves to associate with... why?

I'd really enjoy being able to work with the rest of the KGB (Kiwi Gamers Battlegroup), as I've managed to meet up with a few of them and get some games in against them, and I'm sure they'd enjoy going nuts coming up with a way to make our contribution look like a coherant whole
Especially if I can make them my Command Squad

The bonus of having a designated group you choose to work with is highlighted by Adlan's post.
If people don't have a spare space marine around, but don't want to contribute just another snap-fit space marine, wanting instead to be creative with the posing, they're forced to purchase a whole box of space marines for just one.
However, if working with a group, they can pool their pittance, purchase a box, share out the beekees and go to town on them making them as multi-pose as they like

Re: An appeal to the Warseer Communites

either or. I'm sure it's fine if we went with actual sq2uads, and our secondary groups we just used as a bit of imagery here or there. I was just thinking we should actually try and work out some signs to stand for the communities...

Captain Brown has a great idea (I hope I'm giving credit to the right person, my eyes are blurry right now ).

MIGHT I ADD! Banners borne by marines would make excellent places to put heraldry within the forum...

Just my simple thoughts, from a simple warseer...

Re: An appeal to the Warseer Communites

Is there a list of the set groups we have to be a member of? I see the wasteoids, KGB (I just saw what it meant. I had thought it a U.S.S.R. group by the name LOL.) and ABC. Are those the only ones or are there more and who do we ask about joining one so we can participate? Are other groups allowed to be formed by members who are not members of the set ones? If so, who do we ask for permission to form them?

Question Re: An appeal to the Warseer Communites

I suggest someone make a group/club thread and put at that?

Re: An appeal to the Warseer Communites

Evil, individuals can participate even if groups are making group efforts, as the project was originally envisioned with individuals in mind if I recall it correctly, TWB's vaunted Spare Space Marine theory (i.e. everyone has a spare space marine lying around somewhere)

There could be many groups that would choose to associate themselves as groups, such as the Urbandead player group, the Painting Support Group, the Warseer Book Club and Warseer Movie/Media Society, the regional groups, and ad-hoc assortments of friends and associates on the forum.
You don't have to be part of an 'official' group to make a group effort if you find a group of like-minded individuals to co-operate with, it's an option there for anyone and everyone
Although there will be individuals working individually irrespective, nature of the project really.

    Cheers
