@Vex: Are those WWII-era, or newer versions employed as a breakwater? That's pretty good concrete if they date from the 40's...

It's oddly interesting at times how resilient German Ferrocrete structures from the 40's are. Consider the Germania bunker under Berlin, or the (buried) Flak Towers that still haven't taken a whole lot of notable damage. Or the coastal fortifications that are Still standing.

Here's something especially interesting about German architecture of the Nazi period:

@Tinners: it was good fun indeed! You just need to keep your fingers safe.

@sovietred: IMHO BB lacked powerful main weapon from very beginning and finally it got the normal length barrel. Your take to fix it was good too.

@Vex: Thanks, I need more of them and I wish to learn to make wonderful water effect also.

@Ash: I like this hobby very much, because I still have to discover and explore new sides of the hobby also. And you are one of those, who inspired me a lot.

@SSG Snuffy: wikipedia knows better: tripods were developed in 1950 by French http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetrapod_(structure), but in alternative history, they could be invented by Germans.

I think they're newer breakwater. I would think it odd for them to be left over from the 40's. Helps with beach erosion.

@ Vex: Misread your post, thought it said left over from 40k....................must be getting old

Thought id work some more on my HETS.
Here are the latest on the tractor. The strips on the roof ar not glued down yet. (i need some more.)
Have added rivets, fixed the roof, mirrors, some tools and gear and a cab remote twin heavy stubber.

Think ill try to finish the tractor first and then do the trailer.

A side question to everyone: has anyone tried a conversion with bikes and tracks, to make a tracked bike? Been thinking about this lately, and wondering if IG tracks fit into/over the wheels of SM bikes...

they almost fit, you'd need to shave the edges of the wheels a little.

but, you'll need some major re-modelling to make the tracks loop back on themselves (or at least seem to)

Well... I've been thinking of something like this:

    That's a BMW Schneekrad, from 1936!

I don't know about the modelling aspects, but I would *love* one of those bikes IRL

Yes that looks rather cool. I have an ld BMW R60/6 at home that does not look so different to this, but I am wondering how on earth you would steer it?

I think there's a certain amount of flex in the track that allows you to steer with the front wheel like a normal bike (you can see the handlebars in the photo). I'd bet steering was limited, and the sidecar served mostly as a stability aid. The Kettenkraftrad is a better design, though it has its own flaws.
